Kodak VISION3 Digital Separation Film 2237 35mmis a black and white separation film with enhanced spectral sensitivity, which has been optimized for digital recorders and post-production suites. Intended to provide long-lasting image stability, this film provides archival separations from color digital masters along with exceptionally fine grain, high sharpness and resolution, and well-controlled flare characteristics. Its optimized spectral sensitivity also promotes a wide exposure latitude along with a linear tonal scale and excellent latent-image retention. Additionally, it features a durable ESTAR base for greater physical stability and easier handling.

This item is one 2000' roll of 35mm film, on a Type Y core, and should be processed in either D-96 or D-97 chemistry.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How many frames can be expected from this roll?

A: One would need a large enough bulk loader to roll the Kodak VISION3 250D Color Negative Film #5207 (35mm, 200' Roll) for photography. This would yield approximately 36 rolls of 36 frames.

Q: 2. What does it mean that it is an open box? Is the film still fresh?

A: The open box Kodak VISION3 200T Color Negative Film #5213 (35mm, 1000' Roll) is fresh. There is slight damage to the packaging, but the film is good.

Q: 3. Is this DX coded? (I'm want to use it in a point-and-shoot).

A: No, the Flic Film Vision3 250D Cine Film (35mm Roll Film) does not have the DX encoding. However, you can still use this film on a point and shoot film camera.

Q: 4. Hi this is made in 2023 or 2024? Thanks

A: Unfortunately, we cannot access the Kodak VISION3 500T Color Negative Film #5219 (35mm, 400' Roll) to read the expiration date before shipping, but as a rule B&H does not sell film within 6 months of expiration.

Q: 5. Could this be used to bulk load 36-exposure rolls for a photography camera?

A: Hi David, Kodak does not recommend it.

Q: 6. If I shoot with a 35mm camera, can I develop it normally? and How is it different from kodak vision3 250d 5207?

A: This listing is for the Kodak Vision3 250D #5207 35mm Color Negative Silent Movie Film (400'). If you have the proper equipment and knowledge, it is possible to reload this film into 35mm cassettes, shoot in a 35mm film photography camera, and develop it. When developing the film, you must take steps to remove the RemJet backing.

Q: 7. Does this have the anti-halation remjet layer on it?

A: Yes, Flic Film Vision3 250D Cine Film has the Remjet anti-halation backing.

Q: 8. How much time is on a 400' roll of 35mm film at 24 and 18 fps?

A: Using Kodak's film rate calculator online (unfortunately I cannot reliably post links in the answer), you should be able to calculate the time on each 400' roll of VISION3 film. According to their calculator, 24 fps yields 4 minutes 26 seconds, and 18 fps yields 5 minutes 55 seconds.

Q: 9. Is this film stock standard 16mm Is or super 16mm?

A: Super 16 is an image size, not a film size. This film is single perf, sprocket holes on one side. Super 16 widened the image by using the area used for the optical soundtrack. So this one film does both. Super 16 won't be full image in a 16mm projector, the side will be clipped off. Most Super 16 cameras are older modified 16mm cameras. The film gate has been widened...this is why it won't be full image in a projector. Super 16 isn't projected...it is used for a certain look and then duped on to 35mm, 70mm, or straight to digital. Sooo.....this film itself works in both cameras. If you want to see a film that is Super 16, check out the movie 'Carol', with Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.... Oh, the Vision 250D is 250 ISO Daylight film....if you use it for interiors you'll need some filters. Nyms

Q: 10. How heavy the product (can+film) is?

A: The can with film weighs approximately 5lbs.

[B&W Separation] An absolutely stunning color film at a very reasonable cost per roll. Tons of latitude and very accurate colors when processed ECN-2.

Despite what a lot of folks on the internet suggest, I was unable to get satisfactory results when cross processing in C-41 chemistry. The images were just far too blue shifted, even when shooting with the correct 85b filter under daylight.

Instead I've taken to mixing ECN-2 developer following the Kodak datasheet, which I use in conjunction with my existing Kodak flexicolor C-41 bleach and fixer. This gets me color accurate images and so far doesn't appear to require the specified sulfuric acid stop bath that Kodak specifies.

[D-96, D-97] I'm tired of buying this in 100ft rolls with light leaks.
This 400ft roll arrived in its original packaging and handled well.
