The 10.6" Really Right Stuff MPR-270 Rail (10.6")from Really Right Stuff MPR-270 Rail (10.6")is an Arca-type accessory bar with a double-dovetail design. Therefore, you can mount different accessories to the bar, such as a double clamp for a camera or a Y-support for a telephoto lens. The 6061-T6 aluminum-constructed rail has multiple mounting sockets located on the top, bottom, and sides. This also gives you the option of mounting threaded accessories to the plate. The 1/4"-20 sockets on the sides at each end of the bar are spaced 9mm apart; the sockets on the top and bottom are alternating in size and spaced 15mm apart. 5mm increment scales are laser engraved on each dovetail to repeat a setup or to know your placement on a head. Really Right Stuff recommends not using accessories made for the CB-10, 18, and 28 plates because they are incompatible.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is any one using the 2.9 version of this as a lens foot plate on a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR Lens? If so, do you recommend it?

A: For that lens I have been using for years the RRS replacement foot which is great. I have used this style of plate for other lenses which do not have a specific Foot replacement. It works but is not as nice as if it was a foot replacement.

Q: 2. Does it work for Canon EF 100-400 mm lens?

A: Yes, the Really Right Stuff 6" Multi-Purpose Rail (1/4"-20) is compatible with the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens.

Q: 3. How is camera twist prevented when using this product? The anti-twist feature does not work.

A: This is meant to be used with RRS plates with the lip to prevent any sort of lens twist. On a larger lens foot with two 1/4'-20 screw holes, you can put in both screws to prevent twist.

Q: 4. Has anyone used this with a D7200 (or similar) and a Sigma 10-20mm lens and is it the correct one? RRS have said that this is the correct rail but one of the reviews on this page said that using a Sigma 14mm 1.8 art lens it wasn't long enough. Thanks

A: It is expected to work with that setup, but if you personally have doubts there is the 7.4" version of it as well. BH #REMPRCLIIRIL.

Q: 5. Will this rail work with the Really Right Stuff PG-02 LR Pano-Gimbal Head with B2-LR II Lever-Release Clamp?

A: Yes those two would work just fine together.

Q: 6. Would I attach this to the foot of a 200-500 to make it arca Swiss compatible?

A: The rail is Arca Swiss compatible. If it will attach, it should work. Mine is used for Leica M2 & 3 bodies for a tripod and it works beautifully - the quality is exceptionally high.

Q: 7. Will this work with RRS L brackets?

A: Yes, the Really Right Stuff DJI Ronin S2 CL Rail is compatible with the Really Right Stuff L brackets.

Q: 8. Will this work with the QD strap swivel--is there a qd socket?

A: There is no QD socket on the Really Right Stuff 4.4" Multi-Purpose Rail (1/4"-20).

Q: 9. What range of focal lengths does this work with?

A: It would depend on the physical length of the lens and camera. You don't want the rail to be much longer than the lens that it would appear in the photo and also not too small that you won't be able to find the nodal of the lens. Really Right Stuff MPR-CL Rail with Integral Clamp (5.7") will fit well a lens and camera that measures about 5.7 inches.

Q: 10. Is there a QD socket on the rail?

A: No theReally Right Stuff 4.4" Multi-Purpose Rail (1/4"-20) BH #REMPR113RAIL • MFR #MPR-113 RAIL does not have a QD socket.

[0.82 lb] Works just like it's supposed to. The build quality is excellent, typical of RRS. It's easy to calibrate the lenses and negate parallax.

[Arca-Type] This rail is perfect with my 10.5 mm fish eye for doing spherical Panos. The longer rail, MPR-CL Rail II at 7.4, might be visible in frame if you use a short lens like I do. For Telephoto lenses you'll definitely want the MPR-CL Rail II.

[Aluminum] You get RRS because everything in the RRS line is beautifully manufactured and of the highest quality. Itâ€s a solid piece and the engravings are etched legibly and very importantly the location of the bubble-level is smartly placed where it can be seen with a camera attached. (Not the case for many other alternative rails out there.)
This piece works perfectly for me being both an adapter for using a new gimbal head with my RRS L-bracket as well as for quickly identifying the so-called “nodal point setup for shooting panoramic stitched photos.
The RRS website has the best information about finding the “nodal point for any camera and lens — as well as sharing the actual nodal point measurement for several dozen camera and lens combinations using this rail! They make it so easy.

[0.82 lb] It took a while to understand how to position it for the longer lenses I own, but once adjusted for its longer length, it functions as described. Glad i got the longer nodal slide as all but 1 of my lenses needed the longer length.
