Kodak VISION Color Intermediate Film 3242 16mm 2000' Rollis used for the preparation of color master positives from color negative originals for release printing, for mastering video cassette, DVD, and digital cinema releases, and for color duplicate negatives from the master positive films. It can also be used for the preparation of color duplicate negatives from black-and-white silver separation positives or as a recording film on laser recorders and CRT film recorders. This specialized film has a long tonal scale with excellent image structure and contrast, fine grain, and high sharpness. This #3242 film features a polyester ESTAR base without a rem-jet layer that enables easier processing and printing with fewer spots. The ESTAR base also incorporates an anti-static layer for easier handling.

A: Super 16 is an image size, not a film size. This film is single perf, sprocket holes on one side. Super 16 widened the image by using the area used for the optical soundtrack. So this one film does both. Super 16 won't be full image in a 16mm projector, the side will be clipped off. Most Super 16 cameras are older modified 16mm cameras. The film gate has been widened...this is why it won't be full image in a projector. Super 16 isn't projected...it is used for a certain look and then duped on to 35mm, 70mm, or straight to digital. A: Not exactly. Iso and Asa are equivalent- so 250 iso = 250 asa. Basically this is a slow speed film designed for daylight use and color balanced for daylight. It is not recomended for use with tungsten light- very bright light with blue daylight filters would be required.

A: You have several options to choose from for Kodak VISION 35mm Color Print 2383 Film: it is safe for processing in Standard C-41 Lab Processors or ECP-2D processing. The film can also be processed in standard black and white developers and fixers.

A: No, they don't. They just sell film and chemicals in case that you want to develop your own film. Not an easy thing to do with motion picture. There are some labs that can process or develop film for you in the US. Video & FIlm Solutions is the one that I use, Cinelab, Spectra, Yale Film and Video and Fotokem are just a few. Most of them offer scanning as well. So you can have a digital file of your film and continue your post processing in the digital arena. A: Films under ISO 800 are not affected by X-rays.

A: Yes, all Kodak 16mm stocks that are 'perforated one edge (winding B)' have sprocket holes on only one side, and so are made for the super 16 format. Also, on a Kodak film canister, look for part of the code number of the film that says '1R', meaning one row of perforations, or super 16. Only older stocks or special order stocks for standard 16mm are '2R', meaning two rows of perforations and you can only use 2R stocks in a standard 16mm camera. Good luck!
