Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it come with a pan and tilt head? If not, how does it mount to the crane, so I can find one that will work.

A: It does not come with a pan/tilt head. it mounts a motorized head via a cheese plate using 1/4 20 or 3/8 16 screws. here are a couple of options for you to consider Proaim Senior 2-Axis Pan/Tilt Head with 12V Joystick Control B&H # PRPTSR MFR # PT-SR Proaim Jr Pan/Tilt Head with Joystick Control (12 VDC) B&H # PRPTJR MFR # PT-JR

Q: 2. Can this head be mounted on a tripod?

A: Yes and there are several recommended models listed in the accessories portion of our product page.

Q: 3. Would the Proaim 24' Breeze Kit work with DJI RS3 pro gimbal? If yes, what adapter does it need?

A: The Proaim 24' Breeze Kit with Jib/Crane will work with the DJI RS3 Gimbal. Please add the following parts. Proaim Jib/Crane Gimbal Mount Kit for DJI Ronin, Ronin-M, and Ronin-MX BH #PRRN24400 Proaim Quick Release Plate for Handheld Gimbals BH #PRPQRG

Q: 4. This is listed as a top seller but I see no reviews. Could you reach out to previous buyers and ask them to give feedback? Would love to know what actual users think.

A: This Q&A section does ask users to respond. Unfortunately, they have not for this item at this time. We will say that users are satisfied owing to the number we are selling. Look online for videos and to the PROAIM website for even more information.

Q: 5. Any idea how to control Zoom and Focus using this head?

A: As far as we are aware, the controls on the Proaim Jr Pan/Tilt Head are for the pan and tilt head exclusively, and do not interface with the camera or control it. I believe the easiest way to control your camera's zoom/focus while it is on a crane or jib would be a wireless follow focus system.

Q: 6. Does this work with the Proaim Alphabet 21' Jib/Crane Arm?

A: Yes, The Proaim Jr Pan/Tilt Head with Joystick Control (12 VDC) would be compatible with the ProAim Alphabet Jib models.

Q: 7. What exactly do the damping controls do? Do they control the "ramp up" and "ramp down" speeds on the motors?

A: The damping control of the Proaim Jr Pan/Tilt Head with Joystick Control prevents the Head from stopping with a jerk enabling you to achieve smooth endings.

Q: 8. Can this pan 360 degrees continuously or once it makes a full revolution does it need to rotate back. It appears the cables run through the center of the frame. Is there enough room in that opening to fit a small zoom control cable?

A: Yes. It can be mounted vertically or underslung. The Head will pan and tilt through 360°, and this enables the camera to point directly upwards or downwards when required.

Q: 9. is the joystick proportional speed or is it strictly directional?

A: The Proaim Jr Pan/Tilt Head with Joystick Control's (12 VDC) joystick does not have reactive speed support, instead, the tilt and pan speeds are adjusted by via the knobs on the controller.

Q: 10. Do I need to buy a power block or a power system?

A: This kit includes an AC Power Supply and the Power Pack Battery. You could purchase an additional Power Pack, however it comes with one already. https://bhpho.to/38P42Gq

[19.39 lb] I am using this on an iFootage Cobra monopod with feet to capture photos and videos of youth sports, amateur theatre, and wildlife. A variation of full frame mirrorless Sony cameras and larger lenses are on it to do that (e.g. A9II +200-600G, 135 1.8, etc., or other). It is stellar ... panning, tilting, stability, ease of use, confidence, on and on. I recommend it.

[19.39 lb] This is really a great design and very well made. The adjustment knob was too tight out of the box and it seemed like I would have to return it. Glad I didn't! A padded Channel Lock pliers got it loose and after that all was great! I little turn on the knob permits tilt and pan and a larger turn releases the side to side movement like a Ball Head. So if you don't want total freedom like a ball head, you just loosen the knob a little and you can tilt forward and back and of course rotate to pan as well. My new favorite tripod head!

[19.39 lb] I use this with a VariZoom jib and find it to be crucial as the jib is long and I'm no expert at operating a fluid head on tippy-toe with a poor view of the monitor.Assembly and balancing are very intuitive, and the included RCA video and Lanc cables are helpful. I would purchase an extra control cable and add a D-Tap power cable as well. This works incredily well with small/medium size video cameras. However, with a fully built-out DSLR rig, you may need a longer plate to balance the rig - mine was always front heavy with a matte box and ff. That said, the mounting plate on the head is quite wide and should accomodate almost anything within the wight limit.Using the head takes some practice. The speed controls for pan and tilt are helpful, but the joystick takes some getting used to after a gear or fluid head.Buy this head with confidence - it adds a tremendous tool to the production kit and I can already think of a dozen ways in whcih it will be helpful.

[19.39 lb] Purchased this Head to use with my 70-200mm 2.8l is Lens. Used this for sports photography. Head performed beautifully on my monopod. Also works extremely well on Tripods. It features a panning top portion so I may use this with other arca compatible systems that may not be oriented correctly like advanced flash brackets or nodal rails. Weigh's more than a pound. It's a Tripod Head & Monopod Tilt Head all in one. Highly recommended.
