I immediately unplugged the unit and removed the batteries. One is bubbly looking like it's about to explode. Is my charger defective, or did I do something wrong?

[0.13 lb] I have a bunch of NiMH batteries that just didn't seem to hold a charge well. I was worried they were dying on me and I just couldn't trust them in my flash. My current charges charges batteries, nothing more. This system, it's more than just a charger, had good reviews and the price is very reasonable. It allowed me to analyze all my batteries and see which of them were no longer charging to their listed capacity. I got rid of the duds. Next time my batteries need a charge, there is a "charge only" cycle. Once a year or so I can check the remaining capacity of my batteries. I feel better knowing the capacity of my batteries as opposed to a simple "go - no go." Very happy with this purchase. 5

[0.13 lb] I purchased this, not for analyzing rechargeable batteries, but for measuring capacity of several different brands of lithium AA batteries. There is a common knockoff of this product that didn't actually work for my use case, but I did use it for charging batteries, and I can say that the user interface of the Powerex is much more intuitive and easier to use. As far as customer service, I emailed Powerex to find out if this would do what I was trying to do, and a representative called me and let me know that while it is not an officially supported use, it would work, which proved to be true. I would definitely buy more products from them after having that experience. 5

[0.13 lb] It's been working fine. The only complaint is the same as a few others. it is rather slow to cycle thru all of the parameters of each battery. Would be nice if you could press a button and change the battery selected. I just let it charge overnight and check in the morning. A plus you can charge off a car battery, 5

[0.13 lb] Rechargeable batteries need to be refreshed periodically, and the C9000Pro does so, effectively multiplying the lifetime of your batteries. This justifies the cost, which is two or three times higher than a regular recharger. 5
