A: Hi Vladimir! We had spoken earlier on our B&H virtual video chat feature. For the benefit of other customers, I will answer here so they may use this as reference as well! The zoom ring on the FE 24-240mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS (and other Sony lenses) can be a little stiffer than older DSLR lenses. This is typically to avoid lens creep even when the lens comes equipped with a lock. In this particular case, newer lenses can sometimes take awhile to loosen but typically not by much.

Q: 2. Is this lens compatible with Sony Nex5n? If it is compatible. Then would it be an excellent for Everyday lens for Nex5N as it seems to offer lot of flexibility. Would there be any downside to using this as my primary lens as compared to the kit lens E 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 (other then I'm out $1000)?

[Neoprene] This cover perfectly fit my sony 70-200mm 2.8 g lens.I think it will prevent the lens from scratches ,dent etc to the outer painted surfaces.The zoom & focus ring are not covered. 5

[0.13 lb] When you pay $12,000 for a lens, you want to do all you can to protect it. LensCoat lens covers are the real deal. This is the third super telephoto lens I have covered with a LensCoat cover. All the pieces were cut to fit and the assembly process was quick and painless. Everything fit as it was intended. When you use a lens that is almost two feet long, it tends to get bumped from time to time. The LensCoat cover does an excellent job of protecting the lens from scratches and dings. I recently sold a lens that had been protected with a LensCoat cover. When the cover was removed, the lens looked like it did the day it was purchased. Besides protection, the LensCoat cover provides camouflage and a warm touch on cold days. I would not use a long telephoto without it. 5

[Neoprene] I purchased this for my 70-200mm f2.8 for a football game that I had field access and for which I was not sure what the weather was going to be during the game. I wanted some general protection and this was it. It comes in 3 small sections that you slide over your lens & lens hood. They all fit very snug and there was no worry that it would move or fall off at any time. As it turned out, the game night weather was clear, but very cold. I had this lens on a 2nd body with a Black Rapid strap. It was great to pull up the 2nd camera/lens and not feel the cold metal of the 70-200mm barrell. The cover does not impact your access to the focus or zoom ring. I am not sure how the cover would do in more severe weather but I like that it does give basic protection from keeping it on sling hanging from my side. 5

[0.13 lb] This lens is a great all around go to. Covers all the focal lengths I usually need and so far looks very sharp across the frame and at all focal lengths. 5

[Neoprene] I bought this lens for a somewhat specific use scenario. I wanted a one lens only day time kit for a vacation to Japan. I shoot RAW+JPEG and mostly use the JPEGs unless I get a really great shot. For my use, I think it's going to be more than good enough. Sure, it's not the sharpest lens in the world but, it's sharp enough on my a7IV to keep me happy. The autofocus tech is most definitely dated but, again, good enough for me. This lens is a masterpiece for a hobbyist like myself. I likely wouldn't take any better pictures with a bag full of GMs and I'm okay with that. I halfway expected this lens to be awful and it's not, I'm genuinely happy I picked it up. All that being said, professional photographers, pixel peepers, and others demanding the highest performance possible would be better off exploring other options. 5
