[6.05 lb] This lens is excellent! I use it every day for landscapes and dayily photos. Very good like tank build quality. Very good, accurate and fast autofocus with X1DII.Manual focus is precise and very smooth. Optical this lens is sharp and gives nice creamy bokeh. Distortion is minimal. This lens has a very safe for all kind of weather.I would recommend this sharp Hasselblad optic to all landscape lovers! I add some of my photos taken with Hasselblad X1DII and XCD 45F3.5 in Iceland in August 2022

[Hasselblad X] Heavy but amazing performance. Perfect for travel if you have a comfortable camera strap to carry it around.

[0.15x] I would call this a PRIME zoom lens!

[Hasselblad X] Normally zoom lenses do not have as much definition as prime lenses.
However this lens is the big exception.
It is the best lens I have ever owned in my 40 years as a photographer.

[77 mm (Front)] I used 38 & 55 mm prime lenses but they are inconvenient for meeting.
So I decided to get 35-75 mm zoom lens and I did not regret.
Image quality is excellent and I have nothing to complain.
Focusing speed is fast enough for me.

[Autofocus] Though I prefer doing landscape photography, I tend to use this more for portraiture and general use. It's easy to see these as something like a kit lens, but it excels in everything the kit lens does.

Obviously, with it being the X1D, these lenses aren't the best for wildlife, sports, or anything with unpredictable movement because of the slow focus speed, but when in focus, everything is tack-sharp to the edges and reproduces the most accurate color I've seen in nearly any lens of its type.

The focus by wire is great, but know that this means if you're doing it manually and in the dim light, it may be hard to tell if you've nailed it because you'd be relying on a digital viewfinder or a lcd screen on the back, which will create noise so that you can see what you're looking at. In DSLRs, this wasn't a problem at all, having an optical viewfinder.

The downside I have of this actually has to do with the lens hood. After months of use, it's still not easy to put on and takes a lot of fiddling around. If done incorrectly, you will actually see it in your composition. I've never once had a lens where I wondered if I needed to see a youtube tutorial over putting on the lens hood.

This lens is the perfect one to help complete your range without spending thousands on primes and you're not a stickler for extreme bokeh.

[f/3.5 to 4.5] So, this is a great lens. But... the first copy I got was not sharp. I don't blame B&H for this -- in fact, replacing this for another lens was quite easy and the new lens is excellent. Great sharpness corner to corner. Wide open is a bit softer than closed down 1-2 stops, but even wide open the sharpness is excellent.
