Q: 2. Is there the option to record date/time stamp?

A: Yes, there is a date and time stamp option under the recording settings within the camera.

Q: 3. I have read different answers to this question. Does the HC-X1 record 4K at 60p or only 4K 24bit?

A: This camera can do DCI 4K at 24FPS. It can do UHD 4K up to 59.94. This is an 8 bit camera. 24bit is in software multiplying the three 8 bit color channels. Some RED camera's make it to 12 bit.

A: It has a lot of great focus features, yes, manual is definitely an option

Q: 5. Where is the manual for this camera, I cannot seem to find it online???

A: Panasonic has not come out with one yet.. you can however, download the AG-UX180 manual since both cameras are almost identical..

Q: 6. Does this camera have Face Detection AF?

A: This camcorder does not offer any face detection/tracking features.

Q: 7. Is there a separate cable I can buy to charge the batteries (so I don't have to keep bringing the cable back and forth when I need to charge vs. wanting to do DC power, and can just have separate cables dedicated for separate functions?)

A: Yes, under the Accessories tab, you will find a list of compatible batteries and power solutions. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/accessories/Batteries--Power-for-the-Panasonic-HC-X1/1277528-REG-47010

Q: 8. Is there an instruction manual to put it on? So confused.

A: No instruction manual that we know of, but if you follow the images you should be able to figure out the way it fits around the camera.

Q: 9. In the overview, it says that a super slow-motion effect can be achieved through high-speed recording in HD resolutions at 120 fps but I couldn't find 120 fps in the specs. Does HC-X1 supports 120 fps?

A: Yes, this model supports 120 frames per second.

Q: 10. what are the specs regarding the hdmi output to external recorder?

A: According to Panasonic, the HDMI outputs images up to 4K 24p and UHD 60p/50p and is compatible with external recorders such as the ATOMOS Shogun. B&H offers other external recorders that should work such as those by Convergent Design and Video Devices.

[Panasonic HC-X1] So after being in business for 27 years and having owned/operated several SSony's (CCD-V500, PD150's), a JVC (DV500), and Canon AH-X1's (for the past 10 yrs) it was time to upgrade, and this time Panasonic had all the right features. We received our 2 cameras on a Thursday and filmed a musical with them that Sunday. My hopes was to get images at least similar to what we were used to with the Canons. (so we wouldn't need to re-shoot) As these were our first Panasonics, we had no reference point as to gain limit before noise, color profiles, zebra accuracy, and focus accuracy.....completely blown away with the resulting FHD image at 100mbs. I can't imagine how happy we will be once we really know the ins and outs of this camera. Dropped $8500 cash on the 2 setups and I do not have any buyers remorse at all. (that's a first!) Nicely done Panasonic.

[Latch] This is my first professional video camera and I am in love with all the features. I do recommend watching YouTube for videos on how to use the audio features. The Basic Operating Instructions included are pretty bad. I found a nice Operating Instructions PDF Guide online that offers much more detail. I am very happy with my purchase.

[Yes] I just got into the video side of shooting after over 30 years of camera production and I have used other products along the way and have had several Panasonic camera's. When I started into this new adventure I had an older Panasonic HD camera and it served me very well. I wanted to go to the next step of 4K so I did my research and decided that the HC-X1 was something to get started with as well to fitting my budget. After shooting this system I can tell you it gives everything it say's it will. I love this system and plan on using it well into the future. You have to remember one thing and that is your end product is directly connected to your knowledge as well as the equipment you choose to do your production with. Do your research thoroughly before you decide to purchase. Good luck and happy shooting.
