The 62mm Cokin NUANCES Variable ND Filter 62mm 1-8 Stopfrom Cokin NUANCES Variable ND Filter 62mm 1-8 Stopis designed to mount onto lenses with 62mm front filter threads and provides an exposure reduction of 1 to 8 stops. Its density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, helping you to predetermine the additional exposure length required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is visually demarcated with dots and includes a rotation lever to further enable fast and precise positioning of the front ring.

This filter is constructed from Schott B270 glass for increased optical clarity as well as color fidelity, and each glass surface features 16 layers of Cokin's EVERCLEAR 5 anti-reflection coating. These coatings are resistant to oil, dust, dirt, and scratches, offering greater protection to the filter and helping it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. The coatings are also hydrophobic, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.

Variable neutral density filter allows you to apply differing amounts of density from scene to scene.

Darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.

Provides an exposure reduction of 1 to 8 stops, allowing you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

Offers increased flexibility to use specific ISO settings or ISO films under bright ambient light.

Provides increased exposure flexibility while using cinema or video cameras within a designated film frame rate.

Constructed from Schott B270 glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity.

16-layer Cokin EVERCLEAR 5 multi-coating prevents internal ghosting and reflections; is oil, dust, dirt, as well as scratch resistant; and provides an improved beading effect with water for more efficient cleaning.

Slim, 9.5mm thick aluminum alloy filter ring assembly helps to prevent vignetting while remaining lightweight.

Side lever allows the filter glass to be easily rotated.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you turn the polorizer the entire way off on this filter?

A: The polarizing effect on the K&F Concept Nano-X ND2-32 Variable Fader & Circular Polarizer HD Green Coated Waterproof Anti-Scratch Japan Optics Filter (77mm) can be reduced, but not turned off.

Q: 2. Does this have threads on the front side too? I'd like to attach a lens hood

A: Yes, this does have front filter threading. You can attach a lens hood to this filter.

Q: 3. I have a Canon 24-105mm f4L(77mm). I already have a 77mm protective filter on it; with threads, so I can stack another filter. What size ND filter should I order?

A: Protective filters have the same size front and rear threads so a 77mm variable ND would be recommended.

Q: 4. will the lens cap fit over the magnetic adapter ring (without the ND filter)?

A: Yes, a lens cap can fit over the K&F Concept Nano-X Magnetic Variable ND8-ND128 Filter (82mm).

Q: 5. Can I put it on a sigma 30 mm lens?

A: In theory you could with a step down ring, but you'll get vignetting on the edges. I'd recommend getting the correct 52mm filter.

Q: 6. Does lens have lens cover threads?

A: No, this filter has no front threads.

Q: 7. Seems thick. Will it vignette? Depending on lens I suppose. Also, will it interfere with lens hood?

A: If your lens is wider than 24mm (full frame), then yes it will probably vignette. It would most likely interfere with the hood.

Q: 8. I have a 55mm and a 67 mm diameter lens. could I use a step down adapter along with 58-77 mm Revoring. Or would you have other suggestions?

A: The H&Y Filters RevoRing Variable ND3-ND1000 & Circular Polarizer Filter (67-82mm) will fit on your lens with 67mm filter threads. To use it on your lens with 55mm filter threads, get the Sensei PRO 55-67mm Brass Step-Up Ring. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/3XoPeoY.

Q: 9. How this fits on lenses with filter sizes from 67-82mm? There is no info here.

A: The H&Y Filters Revoring 67-82mm Variable Neutral Density Nd3-Nd1000 And Circular Polarizer Filter has a patent-pending variable and tough retractable blade technology designed to allow the filter to fit any lens with filter thread sizes between 67 - 82mm without the need of adapter rings or step-up rings. You would twist the outer edge of the Revoring and the threads expand or contract to connect to the filter threads on the front of your lens.

Q: 10. Does this filter work with the Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 STM Lens?

A: Yes this 43mm filter is compatible with that lens.

[6 x 4.8 x 0.75"] I discovered the Cokin Nuance Clearly filters when I ran into light pollution problems while taking pictures of the Perseid meteor shower last year. These filters take out all the brown/orange gradient in the sky, and I actually pick up some color in the stars. They work perfectly with my deep sky astrophotography rig, and I really like the way they can accent autumn colors in daylight work.

[0.21 lb] The Cokin NUANCES Extreme Z-Pro Series are well made filters and should last for years. Easy to use filter system that will not fall off the lens. Color is good.

[Aluminum] This was the first time I have used a RVRS GRAD and like the results. In did a great job of allowing more light in the foreground area, Bring down the Sunset light , and bring the sky light from a white to the blue/gray. I did bring the filter up to high and was able to get that light blue look on the bottom of the clouds. As I use the filter more, I will try and update the review. See attached photos.
