Q: 3. What is the output file? Is there an option for raw output

A: Yes you can scan to a DNG file which is a raw file. The scanner comes with SilverFast scanning software that allows you to save a file to different file formats. DNG is a raw format that can be imported into LightRoom or PhotoShop.

A: According to the manufacturer, compared to the original version, the new Plustek OpticFilm 120 Film Scanner has an entirely new sensor and upgraded, higher-quality circuitry when compared to its predecessor. A: Yes. 120 medium format contains a range of frame sizes; the most common being the 6x6cm size. This actually has a frame size of 56mm x 56mm.

Q: 7. Hello,Does this product scan up to 12 35mm frames all at one time? I mean does it automaticly do 12 scans? Or is there a way to set it to scan 12 frames back to back?I have the 8200i and it is way to slow just scanning one at a time.

A: The OpticFilm 120 scanner has a motorized film transport for automatic batch scanning. Your options are:1) 35mm mounted slides (up to a max 5 slides) 2) 35mm filmstrips (up to a max of 12 frames) 3) 120/220 6x4.5 film strips (max. 4 frames) 4) 120/220 6x6 film strips (max. 3 frames) 5) 120/220 6x7 film strips (max. 3 frames) 6) 120/220 6x8/ 6x9 film strips (max. 2 frames) 7) 120/220 6x12 film strips (max. 1 frame)

Q: 8. Can this scan formats 6x7, 6x9 and 6x12?

A: yes, it covers all medium format sizes. It actually covers a little larger than 6x12

Q: 9. All of my 120 negatives are cut to fit 9 1/2 clear vu sheets, i.e. 4 negatives in 6x6 format. Will the 120 holder allow scanning without cutting or damaging the 2 1/4 x9 1/2 negative strip?

A: Maybe. The scanner will only scan up to 3 frames at a time and the holder is about 3/4 shorter than what is needed to accommodate your strip. The last portion will be curled. The good news is that when you are done with the first three you can turn the film 180 degrees and scan the last frame. The holder will hold the film flat enough to scan. I have not had it damage my film yet, but if the film is older (20 years or more) or brittle I would not attempt it without cutting the strip.

Q: 10. Does it work with an iphone 13 mini?

[0.645 lb] Just got back in to film photography for the first since the 90's, since you can't get 1hr service at Walmart these days I figured I would try developing on my own since it's so expensive to ship to get it developed but really didn't want to mess around with changing bags or blacking out my bathroom. It made it super easy to do the whole process in my bathroom without having to worry about learning how to load reels in the dark. So far I've only ran B&W with Cinestill's one step DF-96 and it takes less than 15 minutes from loading the film to hanging it up to dry. tips: If you get the crank add-on, make sure you take it easy you don't need to turn it anywhere near fast, maybe 1-2 revolutions per second. And a few times during the process give the tank a few gentle side to side shakes to help avoid streaks. Pre-rinsing is supposed to help with that and marks from bubbles for both b&w and colour as well. 5

[0.645 lb] I recently got back into film photography but having had a stroke some years ago and losing the feeling in my left hand made it very difficult getting the film on my Paterson film reel. After seeing the Lab-Box I thought that it might be the answer to my problem and I'm very happy to say that it has been! If you have any concerns about using a darkroom or film changing bag I can highly recommend the Lab-Box. 5

[0.645 lb] I mainly purchased this product so that I could shoot double exposures on 35mm film. I wanted this just in case the film leader was rewound back into the spool. After reviewing the other options and the reviews for this product, I can assure you that this product works very well for its purpose. The main complaint is that people say that the metal is too thin and easy to break -- it has to be thin in order to fit into the film canister and retrieve the film, there's no other way around that and you just need to work slowly and carefully. My only gripe is that the written instructions that came with the product are hard to read and follow so you have to pull up the video to learn how to properly use this tool. Once you watch the video, then it will be easy to use the tool and retrieve the film leader. It did take me a few times on my first try and after that it was simple to use. 5

[0.645 lb] I used to leave the leaders out of my canisters so I could reuse them, but this thing makes that unnecessary. It took me a while to figure out the multi-step procedure, but it works really well. It makes me wish I had more canisters to pull the leaders out of, it's fun! 5

[0.645 lb] After much frustration using the other kind of leader retriever, I decided to give the ars-imago a try. Glad I did. Worked the first time I tried it and it's worked the first time on every roll I have tried. It is a bit flimsy, to try not to be heavy handed with it. I will be buying a few more of these. Recommended 5
