Q: 1. Can the arm on this version fold in on itself for storage like the other modes?

A: Correct. Just like other Easyrig models, the arm can be pulled up and out of the vest support and can be folded for storage.

Q: 2. Especially for documentary work, would this be a recommended option for the new Sony fx9 (with the extension unit, v-mount batteries, external monitor, etc.)?

A: This system is designed to work with a camera set up between 11 to 38 pounds. Just as long as the camera rig you have set up is between 11 to 38 pounds this system will work very well.

Q: 3. Can the vest be detached and washed in a washing machine?

A: The Vest can be detached. However it is not recommended to place into a washing machine due to metal mechanical components still attached to the vest. Instead the Manufacture recommends hand washing using a brush and mild detergent. Then after that air drying the system.

Q: 4. Would this not work well with a lighter set up? Say 12-16lbs. I often use the Minimax, but sometimes have heavier setups.

A: This is designed to work with setups between 24 to 28.5 pounds. It will not work with a lighter setup.

Q: 5. I have a panasonic cx 350, would this camera work with this rig?

A: Yes, the top handle of the Panasonic CX350 has mounting points that will allow you to attach either the 1/4 20 stud from the Easyrig 400N Standard Cinema 3 quick release. However we suggest looking at the Easyrig MiniMax for your camcorder the weight support is more inline to the weight of the CX350 when using the Easyrig MiniMax. Q: 6. I will be using the Sony FX9 and the Sony A7s3. Should I get the 5" or 9" extended arm with the Easyrig Vario 5 with STABIL G2 & Standard Gimbal Rig Vest? Small, Medium, or Large size? I am 5'7" 170 lb with 33 waist.

A: If you shoot from your shoulders, or very close to the body, stick with the standard arm. If you shoot from your shoulders, but want to have the versatility to shoot further out from your body as well. The 5" extended arm is the most popular, as it allows you to have the best of both worlds without going to the ”extreme." If you want the camera far away from your body, the 9" extended arm is mainly used for Gimbal purposes, such as a Ronin or a MöVI etc. You can not mount a Serene arm on a 9" extender. The large vest offers a waist adjustment range of 46 to 54". The medium vest offers a waist adjustment range of 33 to 47". The small vest offers a waist adjustment of 26 to 31". The standard-size Gimbal Flex Vest offers a 30 to 36" waist adjustment.

Q: 9. I'm wanting to get an easy rig along with serene and ronin 3 axis gimbal. This seems to be the ideal vest. The work I will be doing with it will range from television/feature film work where an Alexa or similar would be on board but also there would be some doc work where perhaps I am using something like a C300 or Sony FS7. My question is whether the 9 extended arm is suited for all these cameras? Also if you wanted to use the easy rig without the ronin, can this same vest be used in a more classic easy rig hand held camera configuration? Just trying to balance one system for these two worlds

A: I can't speak to all the cameras but I shoot RED and Sony often with this. Its actually more useful as a hand held than with the ronin for me personally. While its very useful with the Ronin, a great deal of shots are limited by its range. I find myself shooting closer to the ground than the easy rig allows comfortably.
