[Aluminum] When I saw this adapter on DPReview TV, I was skeptical that I could finally have Eye AF on my Alpha 1 with my vintage Helios 44M, but after buying this adapter and combining it with a Leica M-M42 adapter, that's exactly what I got! The way you configure it (by setting the aperture) is pretty obtuse, but it does work. Also nice that it includes the docking station to update the firmware through the computer.

If they ever come out with a future version that handles heavier-than-500g lenses, I'd happily upgrade, but for now: I'm very impressed.

[Leica M] The fact that you can carry with you a 35 1.2 as light and small as any m mount lens is hard to believe, of course with few limitations but this type of set up your not looking for perfection, you’ll miss focus in one or two pictures but the feeling and esthetic is gorgeous

[3.7 x 3 x 1.2"] I read all the reviews and watched every video I could find on this product. In the end I decided to give it a shot and boy, was I BLOWN away. This product exceeded all my expectations.


I mounted the adapter on my Nikon Zf and proceeded to test the Voigtlander 50mm APO-Lanthar, the 35mm Summilux, and the 28mm Elmarit. All of them focused fast and accurately. Granted, it'll never be as fast as native Nikon lenses but from an everyday practical standpoint, it was fast enough.


The adapter is much heavier than I imagined but given the speed of the AF motors (4 of them), this is an acceptable compromise. Overall, very highly recommended. No regrets.

[Leica M] Adapter placed on Nikon Zf, Leica lenses work well on AF with good speed and accuracy. Voightlander 35mm 1.4 does not focus accurately. Sharpness with Leica lenses 35, 50,75mm all good.

[3.7 x 3 x 1.2"] I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but yes, this does indeed turn your manual focus lenses into autofocus-compatible lenses on the Sony body. Don't expect perfection, but it does work extremely well. The focus motors are relatively loud, but not shockingly so. I'm now much more confident in situations where I want to use my Leica glass on my Sony bodies and have added autofocus capabilities.

What I learned upon receipt is the difference between M2 (1.0mm thread pitch) and T2 (.75mm thread pitch)... most astronomical fittings are T2 and will not attach properly to M42 without an M2-T2 adapter. These exist but are not easy to find. Fortunately I did source one and the adapter now works perfectly for my intended use.

[0.185 lb] Got this to adapt my collection of Takumar lenses for my new S1H. This adapter feels perfectly sturdy and does what it was designed to do. Extra meaningful because it let me adapt lenses left from my late grandfather. Definitely the adapter to get for Leica L-mount cameras.

[0.185 lb] This is a very nicely machined adaptor that is sturdy and works well with M42 mount lenses. I would recommend this adaptor for anyone interested in utilizing M42 mount lenses with newer digital bodies.
