A: Heavy is not an issue. It is too large to be used on an on-camera flash. This box is ideal for taking photos of close objects on an off-camera flash such as flowers and insects. It significantly reduces the shadows created by only the flash by increasing the angle of incident light on the subject. For an on-camera flash you might consider compromising the effectiveness with a smaller softbox. Not because of weight, but size.
