This Tokina 50-135mm T2.9 Mark II Cinema Lens Nikon F Mountfrom Tokina 50-135mm T2.9 Mark II Cinema Lens Nikon F Mountcovers Super 35mm image sensors, does not exhibit focus shift while zooming, and comes with a Nikon F mount. Updated from its T3.0 predecessor, the lens features a constant T2.9 maximum aperture over the entire zoom range and has a 2.7x zoom ratio.

It features an enhanced all-metal housing optimized for video and digital cinema use and provides manual focus control with 300° rotation. It has an easy-to-read distance scale measured in feet and a clickless aperture ring for smooth iris pulls. The focus, aperture, and zoom rings all have standard 0.8 pitch gears for use with follow focus systems.

Featuring two aspherical elements and super-low dispersion lens elements complimented with multilayer coatings, the lens is able to produce images with high contrast and sharpness while minimizing flare, diffraction, and ghosting. A 9-blade aperture diaphragm yields pleasing focus highlights while further reducing the chance of diffraction at small apertures. The lens has a common 95mm front diameter for use with professional matte boxes and has a filter thread size of 86mm. The lens mount is interchangeable with separately available PL, Canon EF, MFT, and Sony E mounts.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. weight pls?

A: The Tokina 25-75mm T2.9 Lens (PL Mount) weighs 2kg.

Q: 2. Works Covering Sony fx6 sensor?

A: no it does not. This lens's sensor coverage is larger than super 35mm but smaller than Full Frame. It is ideal for cameras like Red Komodo (which has a slightly larger than Super35mm sensor) and is only compatible with Full Frame Cameras like the FX9 when using the crop mode. Therefore we do not recommend this lens for the FX6 as it will not cover the camera's Full Frame Sensor.

Q: 3. can you use a 95mm clamp on matte box?

A: The front diameter on the Tokina 50-135mm T2.9 Mark II Cinema ATX Lens (PL Mount) is 95mm but the filter thread is 86mm. If clamping, it will work.

Q: 4. Is PL mount interchangeable? The description says interchangeable mount - E, M4/3 but no mention of PL. If I order in E or PL can I swap between the 2?

A: The Tokina 25-75mm T2.9 Lens (PL Mount) is interchangeable with separately available Canon EF, MFT, and Sony E mounts.

Q: 5. What is the PL Fange size in millimeters of this Tokina 25-75?

A: that information isn't provided by the manufacturer, it is a standard PL mount. If the intent is to use it with an expand-er or other adapter of some sort you will need to use the measurement tool provided with said adapter to gauge compatibility

Q: 6. Will this work on a GH5S with a .63 speedbooster?

A: Yes, the Tokina 50-135mm T2.9 Mark II Cinema ATX Lens (Canon EF Mount) can be adapted to the GH5S using a .63 speed booster.

Q: 7. Does it work with auto focus of Nikon Z?

A: It does not. This is a Sony E-Mount lens. It will not work on a Nikon Z mount camera at all, it is not compatible. Also, this is a Manual Cinema Lens. It will not work with Auto Focus on any camera.

Q: 8. Does it work with Blackmagic Design Pocket 6K Pro (which does not have a full sensor, but EF mount)?

A: Yes, the Tokina 50-135mm Cinema ATX Lens will work with the Blackmagic Design Pocket 6K Pro.

Q: 9. Will this work with a metabones speed booster? (EF-E Mount)

A: The Tokina 25-75mm Cinema Zoom Lens will work with a Metabones Speed Boaster.

Q: 10. will this lens work on a z cam-e2 with a m 4/3 sensor?

A: Yes, the Tokina 50-135mm T2.9 Mark II Cinema ATX Lens (MFT Mount), will indeed work on the MFT lens mount it is designed to be used on.

[2.7x] Not as much distortion as you would expect. Little CA. All around great lens.

[T2.9
f/2.8] Love this lens, love that's parfocal which comes in handy when filming documentaries. Look from this lens is something special. People seem to pop from the background. Awesome zoom range.

[Imperial] Surprised to not see reviews of this lens on B&H. It’s excellent. Nice smooth focus, iris and zoom. Finish and build are you excellent. There’s something special about the footage captured with this lens. Pairs well with the 11-20mm. Full video review on my Nice Lady Productions YouTube channel dropping shortly.

[Yes] Used on my BMPCC4K and was very happy with the quality. Very wide when zoomed all the way out, and the zoom range is decent as well. Gears worked perfectly with my Tilta Nuclrus Nano also. Very high quality manufacturing, feels built like a tank!

[9] Amongst the best value for a mid/long range cine zoom on the market with impeccable glass. There are a lot of budget lenses on the market that don't quite punch above their weight the way the Tokina ATX Zooms do. I'm thoroughly impressed with color rendition, and focal breathing is kept very minimal. Adaptable to so many mirrorless bodies. The build quality alone is worth the price, I truly feel I'll own this lens forever as a zoom workhorse, paired with Zeiss Milvus primes.

[T2.9
f/2.8] This is my second zoom I've purchased from Tokina and I am happy with quality and attention to detail I'm seeing. The overall lense is best with quality in mind, and you can tell the moment you pull it out of the box. The rings all move with the right amount of drag and there's no backlash. The front diameter matches up with the 11-20mm so I can use my clip-on mattebox easily on both. In terms of image quality, it is sharp and clear throughout the whole image circle. Bokeh has a nice shape to it and everyone who has seen images from the lense have only had positive things to say. While the lense is parfocal, their is a little bit of breathing in it. This is the only area I would say is not perfect, but still well within the usable range. The breathing is quite minimal when compared to other zooms in this focal length range and price point. Overall, I'd highly recommend this zoom if you are looking to fill out the longer end of your focal range. It ticks all the boxes for me, and I think that it will be a huge workhorse in the owner/op category.

[Super35/APS-C] From music videos, documentaries, narratives, and many more! When filming solo or on a time crunch this zoom has served me well. It has very sharp beautiful image, this is a good lens to pair with the Tokina Vista primes. As much as I love things being sharp, I've been loving the Tokina black supermist 1/8 to give it subtle softness and adding even a more filmic look to the image.

I like leaving one camera on the MoviPro with a prime and than having another camera handheld with this mk 2. Compared to the mk1, it feels solid, durable, and compact. To have cinema like quality at a small size is so gucci, especially if you need to keep a small foot print! ...and for all you Komodo enthusiast, it looks wonderful on that too!

[4.26 lb] Love how well constructed is this lenses and its performance. No chromatic aberrances in its widest at 11mm. None noticeable vignettes and vertical distortion at the sides of the image. One of my wise investments! Use it with BMPCC6KPRO.

[9] Expensive but worth it.

[50 to 135mm] The 11-20 ATX is a great wide angle geared cine lens, it matches close enough to the Tokina Vista Primes, which is nice for swapping for a lighter and smaller rig for gimbal shots inside cars and tight spaces. The added threaded filters are perfect for not needing to use a matte box to drop in ND’s saving more space and weight. The FIZ rings have the perfect amount of resistance and are butter smooth. Focus rotation from it’s closest point to infinity is about 300 degrees, so doing a smooth pull will be much easier with a remote focus unit. Lastly not a lot of distortion in its widest, and it’s almost non existent at 20.
