The durable, rigid 23" aluminum tube slides back-and-forth to reposition the attached accessories and locks down with a ratchet lever.

A: Yes, But a end-user must be mindful that the unit is only as strong as the tripod supporting it.

A: No, you would need to attach a pano base or a tripod head in between the bar and the tripod legs.

A: no...you must unscrew your current tripod head...this will then thread into the tripod directly...also the most firmly...you don't want to be using adapters and such to mount this to your tripod...that would be unsafe for your equipment

[3.6 lb] Solid Tripod extension. All the mounting points give you the option to utilize set screws or leave hand tightened. Kept my 5dmk4 pretty still with its 100mm macro attached. Don't know if I would go with much more weight than that without using the set screws (and losing a bit of flexibility.) I'm thinking of mounting my laptop on the opposite side from the camera, we'll see how that progresses... So far so good, don't know how it will age, but I think it looks promising. 5

[2.7 lb / 1.2 kg] I have a tripod with a lateral bar but needed something much studier, and this accessory bar suddenly went on sale. It's easy to attach to my ball head using built-in knobs that are nice and big and easy to use, and the same can be said about the mounts. The handles to adjust the bar work effortlessly, and the support of both my camera and whatever is on the other end is superb. My only gripe are the end treads are 3/8-16, so if I wanted to attach something with a 1/4-20 I'll have to buy two adapters, but it's not a big deal. I also wish there was some way to remove one mount to get some extra length; that would have been a huge plus. 5

[25.25 x 4 x 4"] This unit is very well-made and very versatile. The one complaint I read is that the center tripod mount has no way to connect gear. I was able to solve that by using a copper battery terminal. That with some solder and various parts made what you see in the photo. 5

[Matte Black] It was love at first sight. Being a frugal person I missed the sale and then caught the next one which was not as good. B&H deal of the day requires decisive action which I totally lack. This thing is a monster and has so much utility. My reason for purchase was using a lesser bar to test 2 300mm teles at once. Spent about 2 hours but the set up was so flimsy everything had motion blur. So the Oben does not flex. Lots of clever engineering and high quality machine work. Attention to detail is everywhere. The end mounts with the 3/8 by 16 studs have set screws at 3 equidistant points on the stage to lock things from unscrewing by their own weight. The outboard stages have 1/4x20 threads and the middle has a female 3/8x16 thread. Comes with a canvas case w shoulder strap. 5

[25.25 x 4 x 4"] Oben makes really good products for the money. I've bought a number of their magnetic bases and ball heads. This arm seems solid and locks down good. Don't push it too far on camera weight, but that's common sense. 5

[3.6 lb] For the price you really can't beat this product. Turned my single tripod into so much more. You may very well find some other use for it. I used this to hold a voice recorder , 2 mirrorless cameras and a Yolobox mini.. Works great for me. 5
