The 5.9' E-Image BC06P Carbon Fiber Boompole with XLR Baseis a carbon fiber telescoping boompole with an internal cable and an XLR base offering stable and versatile microphone positioning for boom operators in news gathering, field recording, filmmaking, and video production applications. The sturdy and lightweight pole features five telescoping sections that utilize ergonomic twist locks for efficient and secure length adjustments. With a length range of 2.4 to 5.9 feet, the BC06P makes it easy to get your mic close to your subject.

Padded foam on the boompole enhances comfort, a much-appreciated benefit on long shoots. The integrated coiled XLR cable smoothly extends and retracts in response to length adjustments made with the telescoping tubes. The internal cable exits the boompole via a side-mounted, 3-pin XLR male connector at the bottom of the pole, ensuring simple hookup to your mixer or audio recorder. The 3/8"-16 male tip on the boompole allows compatibility with most microphone shockmounts and clips.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What exactly does built in cable raceway mean? Is there a female or male XLR connection at the bottom of the pole?

A: Thank you for your email. the "raceway" is a channel in the pole that guides the cable to the end of the pole for easy management. This pole does not have a built in XLR connection or cable

Q: 2. One answer says you can run a cable through the pole. The other says you can’t? Which is correct, and if you can’t what’s the point of the cable raceway?

A: I understand the confusion regarding the raceway. But I don't see any exit for the cable at the top for a cable. Nor is there a opening for an XLR connector at the base.

Q: 3. Can I add an internal cable myself?

A: The Auray BP-28CN Carbon Fiber Boompole (7.7'), BH # AUBP28CN, is not designed to accept an internal cable.

Q: 4. max payload for 11'5?

A: The E-Image BC12 does not have a spec for maximum weight capacity, but it has enough tensile strength to support most shotgun microphones and wind protection systems.

Q: 5. Does it come with different lengths of carbon fiber rods or extensions you can add/remove?

A: No. It comes in two version 27 and 48 and provides multiple modes of operation and allows you to get smooth, short-run dolly shots with payloads up to 50lbs.

Q: 6. Will this be good for putting a camera flash on it ?? J/ Payne

A: It is certainly possible to mount a camera flash onto the boompole. The boompole will support the weight of the flash unit.

Q: 7. How much total weight can this monopod support (for a fluid head plus camera/lens combo)?

A: The load capacity of this monopod is 44.1 lbs.

Q: 8. What does it mean that it has a "built-in raceway for convenient cable management"?

A: This just means you can run the cable through the inside of the pole without having to wrap the cable around the outside of the Boompole giving you a cleaner looking set up.

Q: 9. Will the Shure 25DM mic holder fit on the end of the pole?

A: Yes, the Shure A25DM Mic Stand Adapter is compatible for use with the OZEN SoDi Carbon Fiber Mic Boompole.

Q: 10. Can you still use the mounting screw at the top if you feed a cable through? I don’t see where else the cable would come out if not through the top end.

A: You can't run a cable inside that boom pole. If you could it would have come that way. You have to run it outside the pole. Use Velcro to hold the cable in place so it doesn't bang against the pole.

[Coiled] I used this E-Image Carbon Boompole recently for a weekend shoot. I found it to be strong and light weight, and the cushioned grip was appreciated by my hands. The joints require an easy twist, a little less than a third of turn to free each section.
The E-Image Boompole felt like a natural extension of my body at all lengths. When fully extended to 11.5' there was almost no flex using an Okatava MK 102 (MJ modified) with a Rycote shock mount & Rycote BBG. For those that wish to adapt it to an internal cable, I cannot report on this conversion but it is possible. I wrapped my cable around the pole and it worked fine. I did not detect any handling noise.
It looks and feels like it's built to last and it came with the bonus of an excellent case for protection. In my book this pole is an excellent value for the money and I highly recommended it.

[XLR 3-Pin] This seems to be the perfect length for me. I travel quite a bit so I need something that can shrink down to a size that fits in my Pelican Airs, while providing me a boom extension long enough to reach into the scene. Love it.

[3.22 lb] If you're using a wireless receiver solution, look no further. This little guy fits in a carry-on no problem, is lightweight and durable. The holder is actually nicer than it appears in photos. And if you don't have to fumble with a wrap-around XLR cable, you're in great shape for not too much money. Boom.

[Carbon Fiber] This monopod is great!! Perfection. I shoot weddings and was never a big fan of monopods, just didn't solve a problem for me and I don't like leaving them unattended, so it just felt like 1 more thing to bring. I probably cheaped out and bought the wrong unit (different brand) as its head was in no way 'fluid' and it couldn't stand on its own unattended.

This thing does both. Very well in fact. It can stand fairly high with a mirrorless body and large lens, or camcorder on it, and its feet are very long and sturdy. It will stay standing. Head is very fluid as well, nice smoothness to its motion. It's a great monopod. I use it for weddings so I can briefly step away to attend to my b-cam or check its shot settings & composition. This is fine to leave on its own. Packs up nice in a little bag that is very light to carry.

[39 x 3 x 3"] I'm impressed with this boompole. Let's start with the best part, this thing is super light. Carbon fiber is the best. Very strong and weighs almost nothing. That is fantastic. If you've operated a boompole you know how important the weight can be, so having it as light as possible is needed. Even the head/top is lightweight. A heavy boom pole can be brutal to work with so having one this light is great. It's nearly 8-foot reach is very useful. I feel like this will work in any situation. It's very easy to loosen the sections and it is very easy to adjust the length. Really smooth. It also locks down well. It can be very annoying when a boom pole does not lockdown well and the sections twist and loosen. This does not do that, which is important. I did not feel that they would slip. The build quality is really good, especially at this price point. Feels well-made and nice in the hand. I find it pretty quiet when extending the sections also. This helps if you need to make any length adjustment during a take. Again, I'm very happy with this boom pole, it's quality and the price are fantastic. [5] This is fantastic. I bought it just before a major production at an event where we'd be filming a bunch of individuals and with covid we wanted to mic them in a non-contact way. Very light but good build quality. Of course I'd like the XLR stuff on the inside but the weight saving and packability is wonderful and it will be in my run bag from now on.
