A: With the camera and lens listed plus a ball, you will be close to the recommended, maximum weight limit of the SkyTracer Pro. I suggest saving the money you would spend on the iOptron SkyTracker Pro and associated counterweight and purchase the iOptron SkuGuider that has an 11 lb payload. I have the iOptron SkyTracker but wish I had purchased the SkyGuider that will better handle the heavier loads.

Q: 4. Can this be used to photograph deep space objects like the Orion nebula? I am planning to use my tamron 150-600 on a Sony A7R2. Would it work with this combo?

A: Yes however I would recommend getting the Ball Head, and Counter Weight with that set up. So it can support that weight.

Q: 5. Is this clamp compatible with RRS plates?

A: The Field Optics Research Arca Swiss & F-Picatinny Lever Clamp with Pan Axis is compatible with Arca-type style plates. If the Really Right Stuff plate is Arca-type, then yes, it is compatible.

Q: 6. Question already asked but the answer is not clear. The mount can be use without the counterweight with 2.6 pounds of gear. My gear is 2.3 pounds without the ballhead and 3.2 pounds with the ballhead. Do I need the counterweight? Thanks!

Q: 9. Does this tracker have a setting that will just rotate horizontally without tilting?

A: There is no setting , but it is a matter of set-up. Mount the SkyTracker with the camera mounting block level in all directions. The mounted camera will then rotate continuously, and very slowly, across the horizon.

Q: 10. When counting the screws for this item I does it include the actual mounting screws (2) the locking screws for the mounting screws (2) and the scope ring screws (2) ? When I received the scope I received in a small plastic bag the pins and the locking mount screws. It would be nice to specify how many actual screws are used for INSTALLATION not just for the sake of inventory in the package

A: The Bering Optics 3.5x PU Mosin-Nagant Scope should have arrived with a set of 3 side mount screws #BE55037 (part number for screws). A set of 4 screws for the base, #BE55034 and a set of 2 pins. There should also be 3 scope ring screws.

[0.13 lb] I was glad to see the B&H had this scope mount in stock for my Baikal 46M - I've been looking for over a year and no one else had one. The mount itself is very solid as it not only attaches to the barrel but also the bottom is fully supported which makes it rock solid. 5
