The Gitzo G1178M Magnesium Quick Release Center Ball Head has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase. We do not have a way to confirm if the new Manfrotto clamp may be used with the Gitzo tripod head. If you unscrew the clamp on the Gitzo head and it has a stem with a sunken top, it may be compatible. I would simply state that as the Manfrotto Top Lock Travel Quick Release Adapter may be returned within 30 days of the original purchase date if it does not work for your usage needs, I would simply recommend to purchase the item and test to see if it may fit on your equipment.
