Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. To keep out of my shot, how far away can this be placed from the subject? For a one person indoor interview.

A: The Audix SCX1-HC can be placed at around 5 feet away from the person talking, at the very most.

Q: 2. Will this work with any mic with a mini-XLR connector, or only with Audix? Thanks.

A: Yes, the Audix MicroBoom 84 Carbon Fiber 84" Boom can be use with any microphone that has a mini-XLR connector. The MicroBoom 84 has a mini-XLR female connector on the top to attach the mic and terminates with a mini-XLR male connector at the bottom. The MicroBoom attaches to any microphone stand and can be used horizontally or vertically.

Q: 3. Could this item be used with AKG lavalier mics?

A: Not at all. It is compatible with these Audix Microphones only: ADX10, ADX40, ADX60, HT5, ADX10FL, HT2, ADX20i and Micro-D

Q: 4. What does the drops and spills protection cover?

A: Drops and Spills would generally cover any accidental damage done to the unit while using the product in its intended manor. More information regarding the coverage, terms and conditions of the Square Trade protection plans can be found at the following link: http://bhpho.to/1fMHaTB

Q: 5. its phantom power required? I would like to put ii on top my DSLR to get interior speeches or dialogs.

A: It needs a XLR connection (cable). I use it with a Zoom H6 and synchronize in post.

Q: 6. Are these capsules interchangeable with Audix's micro series of microphones?

A: Hi Tyrone, The capsules on the Audix SCX1 mics are a different diameter to the Audix Micro series so are not interchangeable. The Audix Micro series does have field replaceable capsules in cardioid, hyper-cardioid and omni versions.

Q: 7. will this power up an MKH 60 ?that needs phantom power, and then connect the output to a wireless plugon that does not supply phantom

A: No, the Audix APS910 will not work with the MKH 60 because it converts 48V phantom power to plug-in power of less than 9V for lavalier and headset mics. As a better option, use the Sennheiser K6 Microphone System Powering Module (B&H # SEK6Q) which uses a AA battery to supply phantom power and has standard XLR connectors on both sides.

Q: 8. Will this work with W20 and W40?

A: No as these sport an MMCX Connector. Below is a link to some cable options that are compatible. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?sts=ma&ci=2534&cp=12154%2b31442%2b2534&N=N&Ntt=westone%20mmcx%20cable&

Q: 9. Does it work in the ATR 3350 Audio technica?

A: I'm afraid not. That clip is designed to hold the mic itself the ADX10 is 10 mm in diameter. The ATR 3350 is 8 mm in diameter. Not a good fit. Try a B&H link toa href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/885752-REG/auray_tc_olm10_tie_clips_for_olm_10.html/pageID/accessory target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/885752-REG/auray_tc_olm10_tie_clips_for_olm_10.html/pageID/accessory/aThis clip will hold the cable as opposed to the entire mic. Should fit fine.

Q: 10. Would this mic work ok for streaming? I'd like to not have the mic on screen and be able to move my head a little. Also would it pick up a lot of the speaker audio? I don't want to use headphones if I can get away with it.

A: I can't imagine a problem with streaming. As for picking up your monitor audio, that's a bit tricky to answer without seeing your recording space. I'm guessing that some noise reduction to reduce your monitor audio bouncing back and having the monitors behind the mic should result in a clean sound without picking up the monitors... but this would be true for any mic that's not omnidirectional. We use this mic at about 3 feet from two people talking and it's awesome... we don't use the monitor. If money's not a limiting factor, this mic also has different heads that support different patterns..

[108 dB] I was tired of listening to myself singing with the Audio Technica AtT2010 for 2 years, proximity effect was awful on that mic. With the Audix vx5 everything is better, no more proximity effect!!! Voice is warm, clarity is high, I love it. Thanks to B&H also, I got the price match and received the microphone in 3 days, I live in California, what a great company to deal with.

[0.905 lb] I watched many microphone reviews and shootouts, many drummers and engineers recommended it. I had the opportunity to purchase less expensive mics new and used but I purchased the Audix D6 and I am SUPER PLEASED at the sound. Not muddy but has great low end and has that punch! U need this in your life!

[0.905 lb] This is a great addition to an existing Dante system. Installation is easy, just need a 2 hole in the ceiling tile and connect CAT6 cable with RJ45. The unit is smaller than anticipated, but the microphone is super sensitive and picks up the entire board room with clarity. The plug-and-play capability of the Dante system and interface is also nice, as it provides power to up to 4 connected devices. A single ceiling mic and interface connected to our existing network has replaced the need to set up table-top mics and a multi-channel mizer and removed the worry about users accidentally muting their mics during a meeting. With some additional Dante interface devices, users can easily connect over our network to ceiling mics with ease. A point of advice for those new to Dante, be sure you are comfortable with the environment requirements, they might seem overwhelming at first, but they are easy to build out and work with existing network infrastructure.

[108 dB] I have been a sound engineer for about 30 years. I have used all the kickdrum mikes in the marked that is worth to mention. When I first discovered the D6 a couple of years ago I knew this is it. This is the mike I have been looking for all these years. Its no longer needed to use two mikes for the kick as I used to, one for the deep and one for the click. This mike got both. I use it both in the studio and live. Its a hit.

[≥130 dB] I have used the D6 on 3 shows with many more to come. It does just what it was designed to do. 6 to 8 inches away from the beater head in line with the beaters. It has made a great difference in our sound and has surprised a few sound guys who are fans of other mikes. I have no complaints. It is easy to use as you have very little adjustments on the mixing board

[RJ45] Sturdy as advertised, low profile, quick and easy to mount, move and take off. Mine came with a heavy plastic mic clip unlike the thinner kind (which can break easy) as pictured. The only problem with these clips is once you have everything in place and wired it is difficult to adjust the height of the mic. It's easiest to un-patch the XLR then readjust the height. Otherwise, a really great mount for your D series mics.

[Condenser] The D-6 is such a good Mic for the Kick drum and is very easy to make sound good with very little Eqing. Hard to beat for the money

[60 Hz to 10 kHz] Well, it doesn't look that great in the pictures, does it ? Indeed, I doubt it would have occurred to me to BUY one, until TWO of them arrived over a year ago as part of my superb Audix SCX25A matched pair piano miking kit. From that moment on, I found myself constantly reaching for them (rather than my vast inventory of other clamps) whenever the need arose to mount all sorts of things in all sorts of less conventional places. That they're fabulous for mics is a given, but these clamps are ALSO unmatched, in my long experience, for the secure clamping of more exotic things, such as mini cams and wireless mic antennae. Perhaps the best testimony I can give in terms of just HOW useful they've been (and what good value for money they represent) is me telling you that I now own a total of six.
