Primarily designed for kick drums, floor-toms, and electric bass, the sE Electronics V PACK CLUB Drum Mic Kitis a dynamic microphone with a supercardioid polar pattern. It's intended to be quite versatile, with four different tonalities thanks to two switches mounted on the rear of the mic. One switch controls the frequency content of the midrange, while the other changes the high-frequency capture of the V Kick.

Thanks to these switches, you can secure a rounded midrange with a softer high end, a scooped midrange with a defined high end—or the complete opposite: A scooped midrange with a softer high-end, or a round midrange with a softer high end. This allows you to use the mic with all sorts of styles of kick drum, from big-band jazz to aggressive metal. The same is true for basses. You can tailor this mic for something that complements a round, vintage Ampeg tone, or a more modern back-pickup style.

These switches are positioned on the rear of the mic, and this helps with live-sound functionality. With different bands switching their instruments between sets, this mic can be of service in keeping changeover time to a minimum in club venues.

At the heart of the V Kick is its DMC7 SB capsule, which utilizes an aluminum voice coil for a transient-rich sound and a bottom end extending low enough to record the fundamental frequencies of kick drums and basses. Its supercardioid pickup pattern ensures little bleed, helping you isolate the sound-source from other drums or cymbals. The capsule is suspended inside the mic to keep it decoupled from mechanical vibration, shocks, jolts, and other issues.

The mic's all-metal housing is rugged, making the mic suitable for live use on the road. A gold-plated XLR connector helps to provide a reliable signal connection. With a windscreen built into the mic, it's already internally protected against winds, plosives, and extraneous noise. A black windscreen and a knurled nut for third-party mounting kits are included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. WHAT IS THE WEIGHT AND DIMENSIONS FOR THIS PRODUCT?

A: About 12 high, 14 wide, 8 deep (estimating). Perhaps 5 lbs.

Q: 2. can you add more speakers to the system?

A: No, there is only one set of RCA outputs from the mxer and a two channel amp included with the CLUB-HD9500

Q: 3. Does this microphone connect with laptops and mpcs

A: This large diaphragm microphone would require an audio interface with the ability to provide 48 volt phantom power in order to connect to a computer. A very good choice would be the Audient iD14 10x4 USB Audio Interface, B&H # AUID14.

Q: 4. How many watts does the mid range speakers put out. I'm looking for the max wattage and the RMS wattage?

A: This system ships with VocoPro's VX-15 speakers. They are rated at 600 W peak / 300 W RMS 8 ohms. http://bhpho.to/2f4ZbEO

Q: 5. Is there a good case to put this equipment in? I am looking to be able to pack it up and take it with me when necessary

A: I have not seen a compatible case for this reflection filter or one like it. I surmise that a case for something odd-shaped such as this reflection filter would be unreasonably large. I have a slightly larger reflection filter that I just bag up in a clear plastic bag, or I put it into a drum throne bag if I want it padded.

Q: 6. Will it work with the Rode PSA 1?

A: This type of filter is not designed for a broadcast arm like the PSA1. This filter requires a vertical mic stand to attach to. You could use this type of desktop reflection filter, and the pull the PSA1 in front of it BH #AURFC12R.

Q: 7. Hi - Wondering if a Blue Mic Yeti will work with this mount?

A: Unfortunately not. The Radius II is required to properly shockmount the Blue yeti; B&H BLSMYPM. The pop filter is sold separately as well. The B&H# is BLTP.

Q: 8. can you add speakers to tjhe system?

A: Power is only two channel you will not be able to add more speakers to this system

Q: 9. Is there any reason this wouldn't work mounted inverted on a boom mic setup?

A: None at all. Just note the weight at about 5 lbs.

Q: 10. Thanks to all for the reviews. Several owners mention the weight of the unit and how it needs to be paired with a heavy/sturdy tripod to keep from toppling. Any reco's on a specific tripod that would work? B&H links the Auray RFMS-580 tripod with this filter. Anybody happen to be using that stand? Sturdy enough? Does it work? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

A: John if it is not too late, I would recommend a c-stand, like the ones impact make, very solid, especially with a sandbag for good measure.

[Voicing Preset] I bought this to work with another mic but when I switched to the rode Podcaster I thought I would try it with that mic. It works well but an external pop filter isn't necessary with the rode Podcaster.

[Supercardioid] This really shines in rooms with little to no sound treatment. In my case, I am using it in a building with AC and between this and my Scarlet 2i2 there is no background noise in the recording. Nice!
