Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this allow me to jam timecode from a BNC output into a LEMO input?

A: Yes it should. This is a BNC to LEMO 5-Pin Input Cable for Time Code.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with a Mixpre10 II mixer?

A: No, this breakout cable has no application with the Mixpre10ii.

Q: 3. Is your Soundfish 2 MkII compatable with a Zoom H8 recording device?

A: Yes the Ambient Recording Soundfish 2 MKII Compact Hydrophone with Cable is compatible with the Zoom H8.

Q: 4. Is this basically a stripped down Master Lockit? Or would this be used in conjunction with a Master?

A: The Lockit ACN-CL replaces the discontinued ACL204 and TinyLockit ACN-TL in terms of functionality. As such it delivers timecode and sync signals such as genlock, wordclock, and PPF required to make it the perfect choice to be an external synchronizer for all kinds of cameras and recorders. It also can be set to act as a C-Jam master to slaves other units when used as the timecode reference on a soundcart, so the sound mixer can comfortably synchronize the set. However it does not feature the sophisticated web interface of the MasterLockit, which is still an active product. These features are based on an additional web server accessible through WiFi which the Lockit lacks both. So, if your customer is looking for sound reporting together with Sound devices 6series and 788T, visual monitoring of synced devices over ACN, metadata processing including a virtual slate, this will always require a MasterLockit.

Q: 5. Can I use this mike on an iPhone?

A: The Ambient Recording ATM216 Tiny Mike Miniature Electret Shotgun Microphone for DSLR Cameras (B&H # AMATM216DSLR) will work on an iPhone with the proper 3.5mm (1/8") adapter.

Q: 6. Is it Mono or Stereo?

A: The Ambient Recording Soundfish 2 MKII Compact Hydrophone with Cable is mono.

Q: 7. for virtual production volumes, can the device be synchronized to an evertz 5700 and then run standalone as a timecode and genlock generator on camera? also maintaining genlock that would normally come from evertz?

A: With the LTC output of the Evertz 5700, you can sync the Ambient Recording ACN-CL Lockit Compact Wireless Timecode Synchronizer in TX mode. As a TX master, the Lockit will adapt to the speed of the LTC signal, and it will regenerate and broadcast the time code and sync to all of the following ACN units. For virtual productions, I would recommend using the Lockit+ (B&H # AMACNLPE) as the TX master as it gives you more insights about the current sync status in its web interface.

Q: 8. hello does this cable same like Ambient Recording LTC-OUT/EPIC Lockit Timecode Output Cable for Red Epic/Scarlet (16") 5 pin lemo to 4 pin lemo ?

A: This cable is designed for transfer of metadata and specific remote control protocol. We can not guarantee proper functionality if used as an LTC-Output cable. Here is an alternative BH #RECATCL5ML4M.

Q: 9. this is for 3.5mm is for Sony or Sennheiser ?

A: The Ambient Recording 3.5mm Adapter Cable for ARRI Alexa Mini specifies compatibility with Sennheiser "ew" receiver output connections.

Q: 10. What's the difference between this and 'ASF-1 MKII'? Does the ASF sound better fidelity wise? Thanks!

A: The Ambient Recording Soundfish ASF-2 MKII Compact Hydrophone has an omnidirectional polar pattern with a frequency response range of 70 Hz to 20 kHz, a total harmonic distortion rating of 0.1%, and the dimensions are 1.9 x 1.2 x 1.2" (47 x 30 x 30 mm). The ASF-2 MKII can be used for underwater applications up to 100' (30 m). The Ambient Recording Sound Fish ASF-1 MKII Hydrophone has an omnidirectional polar pattern with a wide frequency response range of 7 Hz to 40 kHz, a total harmonic distortion rating of 0.1%, and the dimensions are 6.9 x 1.0 x 1.0" (175 x 26 x 26 mm). The ASF-1 MKII can be used for underwater applications up to 328.1' (100 m). Physically, the ASF-1 MKII is a larger and longer microphone with a thicker cable than the AFS-2 MKII, and the AFS-1 MKII can be submerged to a much farther depth than the AFS-2 MKII. The AFS-1 MKII also has a much wider frequency response range than the AFS-2 MKII.

[0.11 lb] Bought to sync my NanoLockit to an Alexa Mini. Worked without issues and took a reasonable amount of abuse.

[0.11 lb] These quick release mounts are great!

I have them on two boom poles and and one on my sound cart!

It's so handy to alternate microphones when you need to do it quickly

[0.11 lb] I really like this part, I have bought a few of them for all of my boom poles. I like it because it is nearly weightless and looks very clean. If I have an issue with the color I could just paint it black. I like using these pieces because I feel confident it won't fail and can be used on any boom pole to provide cable isolation.

[0.11 lb] I use this unit as the master synchronizer for the Nanolockits. It's much faster than changing settings from a computer. It's built to last and easy to use. I couldn't be happier.

[0.11 lb] Was skeptical with the price, after fumbling and almost dropping a mic in the cold of a winter shoot decided to add one. This is my third, now I keep them on every pole and stand when on a shoot.
