The Ambient Recording XLR-7M to TA3F + 3.5mm TRS Y-Cableis a mixer-to-camera inverse breakout Y-cable.

The cable is terminated with a 7-pin XLR male connector at one end and two 3-pin TA3 female connectors along with one 3.5mm TRS right-angle return connector (on coiled cord) at the other.

[0.185 lb] I really like this part, I have bought a few of them for all of my boom poles. I like it because it is nearly weightless and looks very clean. If I have an issue with the color I could just paint it black. I like using these pieces because I feel confident it won't fail and can be used on any boom pole to provide cable isolation. 5

[0.185 lb] It took me years to decide what pole to buy. I’ve used the ktek Klassic a ton for shoots but I never really liked the feel of them. A couple years ago I bought the travel boom by Ambient and it quickly became my “go to” boom for “run and gun” shoots. However, there were a few shoots the travel boom could not reach talent. So I had to use my old pole. I recently bought this and it has been amazing. The new 1/4 turn locks have made it the fastest locking pole I have used. The internal cable so far hasn’t given me any noise issues. And the new easy to take apart system gives me confidence that I won’t have to struggle with any potential “coil-jamming”. I really love the slick look of the carbon fiber design. I always get asked about my boom by other audio people on set who haven’t seen an ambient boom. I will probably be ordering another soon for dual boom op situations. 5

[0.185 lb] I use these cables with my Sound Devices MixPre-10T. They work great to send audio to a camera. The cables feel quality made and I have faith that they will work correctly whenever i need them. The Mini connection snaps in perfectly into the MixPre-10T. Likewise, the release buttons are solid and works perfectly when removing the cables from the mini xlr ports. When not in use, they fit well into the side pockets of my K-Tek Stingray Jr. audio bag. 5
