Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. My main purpose for this hood is to eliminate reflections when shooting thru window glass. Would this help to block reflections when use on the Tamron 18-400 mm lens? The OEM hood doesn't help.

A: Your best bet is to use a polarizer on the lens. Polarizer's remove reflections off of glass. Click the link below to view; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/900311-REG/Hoya_anxt72crpl_72mm_NXT_Circular_Pol.html

Q: 2. Hi, will it work with a Tamron 17-28mm with no vignetting? Thanks!

A: 17mm in a full frame camera is right in the border of where vignetting can occur. It is likely you will see some shading of the corners, but should not be major problem.

Q: 3. What is the minimum usable focal length for film camera?

A: On a 35mm film camera lens, you can use any focal length longer than 17mm.

Q: 4. Is this the best choice for the Nikon z40 f2 lens?

A: The Sensei 52mm Collapsible Rubber Lens Hood is a solid choice in a lens hood for the Nikon Z 40mm f/2 Lens.

Q: 5. will this work with my Canon AE1 FD 50mm 1:1.8 lens?

A: Yes, this will attach to the filter threading of the Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 lens.

Q: 6. Is Sensei 72 Wide angle rubber lens hood able to work with Sony FE16-35 mm ZA without vignetting?

A: It works fine with my 18 - 200 mm Canon Zoom lens. No vignetting.

Q: 7. Does this 72 mm rubber lens hood screw onto the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II lens?

A: As the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens has 72mm filter threads, yes, the Sensei Wide-Angle Rubber Lens Hood (72mm) may be used with the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens. However, do note that this is a third-party lens hood designed for wide angle lenses, and the lens hood may not provide adequate light-blocking capabilities at all focal lengths found in the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens. If performance at all focal lengths are needed, then the Tamron Lens Hood for 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens, B&H # TALH1840035, would be the correct lens hood for your usage needs.

Q: 8. Would this work on an RF 35mm 1.8?

A: Yes, this lens hood is compatible with the Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM lens.

Q: 9. Will it work without vignetting on 10mm lens?

A: You will probably get some vignetting at 10mm.

Q: 10. will this hood produce vignetting when combined with the Schneider Super angulon MC 90mm f8 lens for 4x5 cameras?

A: This will not cause vignetting with that lens.

[Thread] Just purchased this lens hood for my Canon RF 35mm lens, and very happy with it’s quality for the price. Made specifically for wide-angle lenses, and the literature that came with the hood stated for lenses up to 28mm. No vignetting issues. Allows for filters to be added, and the lens cap still fits with the hood in place.

[0.115 lb] I use this on my Canon RF 24-240mm, with a B+W UV filter in-between this hood and the front glass. It fit well, and has a good feel to it. Will help absorb some impact of lens vs. other objects as well.

[0.115 lb] This is a very well made lens hood that I expect will last many years. Works as expected on my lenses to 24mm. My 20mm shows some minor vignetting on all four corners. This is a quality item at a very fair price, thank you B&H!

[Thread] With its slim design, this hood fits my needs perfectly. It doesn't make the lens look that much bigger, and it provides great shade from sun flares.

[52 mm] This rubber lens hood serves it's purpose to reject light, but more than that I find it useful as a protector for my lens should I bump into anything and because I tend to be aggressive with my gear so it's nice to know that I can put the lens face down with the lens hood to the surface area (see picture attached) and it will stay upright and not fall while also protecting the lens and camera body as well.

Another amazing feature is the cost. At just $10 it's worth the investment especially if you do lots of time-lapse video in airports where the lens hood can block the reflection of the glass when the rubber lens hood is pressed up to the glass.
