Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens hood produce any vignetting at 24mm when used on a Canon 24-105 RF f4 lens?

A: No, this lens hood is designed for wider lenses like 16mm. 24mm wouldn't even notice it so this should be good for your lens.

Q: 2. Does this fit the Nikon 28/1.4D?

A: No, you need the 77mm one. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1079788-REG/sensei_lhm_w77_pro_77mm_wide_angle.html

Q: 3. Will it work without vignetting on 10mm lens?

A: You will probably get some vignetting at 10mm.

Q: 4. Hi, will it work with a Tamron 17-28mm with no vignetting? Thanks!

A: 17mm in a full frame camera is right in the border of where vignetting can occur. It is likely you will see some shading of the corners, but should not be major problem.

Q: 5. Will it work with a 16mm lens on APS-C camera or only starting with 18mm?

A: Yes, it will work on any lens with a 58mm filter thread and should cause vignetting with 16mm apsc lens.

Q: 6. What is the minimum usable focal length for film camera?

A: On a 35mm film camera lens, you can use any focal length longer than 17mm.

Q: 7. Is Sensei 72 Wide angle rubber lens hood able to work with Sony FE16-35 mm ZA without vignetting?

A: It works fine with my 18 - 200 mm Canon Zoom lens. No vignetting.

Q: 8. Hi, could I use it with a Leica 12-60mm of my GH5? Do you think it is sufficient for my wide angle lens? Thanks

A: I use mine with Canon equipment and it is super when taking pictures against windows, I would not know if it fit Leica equipment

Q: 9. My main purpose for this hood is to eliminate reflections when shooting thru window glass. Would this help to block reflections when use on the Tamron 18-400 mm lens? The OEM hood doesn't help.

A: Your best bet is to use a polarizer on the lens. Polarizer's remove reflections off of glass. Click the link below to view; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/900311-REG/Hoya_anxt72crpl_72mm_NXT_Circular_Pol.html

Q: 10. will this work with my Canon AE1 FD 50mm 1:1.8 lens?

A: Yes, this will attach to the filter threading of the Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 lens.

[72 mm] This rubber lens hood serves two major purposes for me...

1. I press it up against glass to do away with reflections. I shoot lots of time lapse in airports looking out at the runway so having this rubber lens hood makes avoiding reflections easy. I just get a small tripod and angle the camera to the rubber is pushed up to the glass as close as possible. As long as the glass is clean it'll look great.

2. The other main use for this is just as a lens hood bumper for when I'm shooting hand held.

For the cost, this is a great item to have in your kit.

[72 mm] This hood works well on a lens that rotates when extending. The butterfly type just doesnt locate well on those lenses.

[0.15 lb] I use this on my Canon RF 24-240mm, with a B+W UV filter in-between this hood and the front glass. It fit well, and has a good feel to it. Will help absorb some impact of lens vs. other objects as well.
