It features a combo input jack that accepts either XLR or 1/4" connectors, and the locking XLR connector guards against accidental disconnects on stage or in the studio. This road-worthy personal monitor amplifier is constructed with a durable metal chassis that can take the bumps and impacts of travel and stage performance.

If you're sitting behind a keyboard or drum kit, changing the monitoring volume in your headphones is trickier than it sounds. If you can't walk over to the headphone amp or give the "more volume" sign to the sound engineer, the BCPM-1 is for you. It puts a volume knob right at your belt, so you can dial in the perfect monitor level any time you need it.

Because monitoring is so critical to your performance, the XLR jack features a locking mechanism to prevent the connector from accidentally disconnecting—like if there's a little tug, or even if someone trips over your cable. When you're done, just press the locking tab to disconnect. Not using an XLR cable? No problem. The BCPM-1's combo jack accepts 1/4" connectors, too.

Use your favorite studio or monitoring headphones, earbuds, or in-ear monitors. The standard stereo 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone jack accepts them all.

Thanks to the BCPM-1's compact and lightweight design, you'll forget it's there until you need to adjust your volume. The monitor is made with a sturdy metal chassis that can take the bumps of travel and live stage performance.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can it connect by bluetooth?

A: The Polsen BCPM-1 Passive Belt Clip Personal In-Ear Monitor Amplifier does not have Bluetooth built-in but if you have Bluetooth headphones, you can use a separate Bluetooth transmitter like the Aluratek ABT01F Bluetooth Universal Audio Transmitter (B&H # ALABT01F) to enable compatibility with Bluetooth headphones.

Q: 2. phantom power?

A: No, this is a headphone amplifier. You would not connect a microphone directly to it.

Q: 3. How large are the mounting screws? I can't find the exact size anywhere. Does anyone have any experience with clips like these? I need a belt clip for my Tascam DR-05.

A: Depends on what you are mounting the clip to.

Q: 4. can this be used with earbuds ?and what microfone would bee best ?

A: This can be used with earbuds. The type of mic would depend on what you are doing with it. For a live vocal performance situation, here's a general mic recommendation: B&H # SEE945.

Q: 5. I bought this a year or so ago and have been using it to use to boost the monitor level for my somewhat high-impedence headphones. I just tried the mic port for the first time. I am finding that the mic input leaks into the monitor channel even with the mic volume at zero. Raising the mic volume does raise the mic input, but also adds quite a bit of noise. And when the monitor volume is at zero, the mic channel does not sound even with the level set up high. I expected the two inputs to be independently controllable. Is there a way to accomplish this?

A: Hello. Thank you for your description of usage. This device is designed to where the Monitor level control is a master control over the overall mix output of the mic input and monitor input. The two input channels can not be separated. If needed to balance the levels of the mic and playback in your headphones, you'd have to balance the mic gain on the Polsen, and the headphone out of the Steinberg individually. As for the metronome bleed through the mix when the gain is down, the headphone out level of the metronome is a much hotter signal than the expected mic level intended for the mic input. Due to this, it is possible that the level would pass through while the gain is turned down. I would recommend revisiting the metronome built into your recording software. This can be used while recording and not actually be on your recorded tracks. By going this route, all you would need the Polsen for is to boost the level of the headphones.

Q: 6. Will this clip fit the mount on the back of the F3 recorder?

A: The Zoom F3 has a 1/4''-20 thread on the back of it. It does not have a thread that would fit the screw hole size required by the ZBCF1 Belt Clip that would fit into the back of the F1, that threading is smaller.

Q: 7. Do you need to use a headphone amp w/ this? Or does it require phantom power?

A: This is a passive headphone amplifer, meaning it does not require power. Connect a cable from a monitor output of a mixing board to this device, and you can attach headphones or in-ear monitors to recieve a personal mix. The unit also has headphone volume control.

Q: 8. What is the spacing of the holes on the back of the plate?

A: Hi Jesse, the dimensions are as follows: Diameter of the holes: 2,5mm; horizontal distance: 58mm; vertical distance: 74,20mm Does this help? Kind regards!

Q: 9. Can this passive version take stereo input? or just mono?

A: There is an internal switch that allows you to select a mono or stereo source.

Q: 10. What's the bolt hole spacing?

A: This specification is not published. Please contact directly: -----------------------------------KenwoodTel: 310-639-9000 or 800-536-9663Website: a href= http://www.kenwoodusa.com/ target= _blank http://www.kenwoodusa.com//a

[>110 dB] This is a great unit. Well built and the sound quality is great. Works perfectly for practicing at home with the band without spending a ton of money. I suspect it would work just fine in church settings for Stage in ears as well. Highly recommend.

[+24 dBu] Sounds clear, and feels sturdy. Remember that this is a passive device. You will need to crank the volume a little bit in your console, but that is expected.

[Passive] Works great for my amplifier on the cello. Would recommend getting good quality headphones. Gets the job done for a really loud stage and when you really need to hear yourself.

[>110 dB] There are a ton of expensive wireless in-ear systems out there for performers to hear themself without having to lug huge monitors around that take up stage space. But as a bass player I really didn't need a wireless system as I was tethered by my guitar chord already. I first looked at passive belt clip style wired types but settled for a battery powered active wired unit. It worked really well straight out of the box. I could select mono or stereo. It was compact and easy to use and I could boost the volume if the band got louder. But we generally found as all the members switched to in-ear units, our stage volume was noticeably quieter.
I would strongly recommend this neat and compact unit.

[+24 dBu] As lead singer for Hypnotik, an in ear system was so needed for stage volume control and we were on a tight budget. The Polsen did wonders for the band
