Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I'm thinking of using this as a third podcasting camera linked to a switcher. Doable? Also, is there any way to use it as a dashcam with power from what they used to call cigarrette lighter?

A: The IDOLCAM does have a mini-HDMI output that can connect to a switcher in a multi-camera setup. While the camera can be mounted on a dashboard, the camera cannot be connected to a cars accessory power port for continuous power. The camera can only be powered by the included battery, and charged via USB in the camera when not recording.

Q: 2. Can this be used with a C100 mark 1, if I get a P-tap to Canon C100 power converter?

A: Yes, you can use a power tap / d-tap to DC barrel adapter to power the C100 from a brick battery. IndiPRO Tools D-Tap to DC Barrel Cable for Canon C100 (24 ) is an example of such an adapter.

Q: 3. Can this be used with an umbrella-type softbox?

A: I don't see why not but i have not tried it. The lights are great but I have not had a chance to use them very much, yet.

Q: 4. How many p-taps are on this mount?

A: Just one

Q: 5. How do you calculate the wattage? eg. if it says 60W using only 14w or 30w/70w/100w using only 12w/19w/28w etc

A: The Raya Octa Fluorescent 7 Socket Fixture can only use a total up to 350 watts power. So the lamps can not use more than 50 watts each.

Q: 6. Does this Impact 50 x 50 cm Soft box can be used for Impact mnolight?

A: This looks like the one for the monolight... https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=423638&gclid=CO7Mpd23vNMCFci6wAodjgUJng&is=REG&ap=y&m=Y&c3api=1876%2C%7Bcreative%7D%2C%7Bkeyword%7D&Q=&A=details target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=423638&gclid=CO7Mpd23vNMCFci6wAodjgUJng&is=REG&ap=y&m=Y&c3api=1876%2C%7Bcreative%7D%2C%7Bkeyword%7D&Q=&A=details/a

Q: 7. Will this fit onto any light stand or only Impact stands?

A: should fit any. has standard adjust knob.

Q: 8. I'm looking at some CFL Bulbs that are 45W but they are 3" in diameter. Will they fit if using all 7 in the fixture?

A: It is difficult to say as B&H uses slightly smaller than 3" 32W Florescent bulbs in this fixture. 3" might just fit but it depends in part on the shape of the base as well. If it is narrower at the base it may work.

Q: 9. Can 4x85w or 3x105w bulbs be used safely in this lamp ? I'd like to reach the max rating of 350w, but 50w bulbs seem hard to find and/or very expensive. thank you

A: They are $2 each which is cheap, and they last for years which is a good value. They work very well. I would not change the bulb type at all, ever. Do a search for CFL bulbs 5000K 50W and you will see how easy they are to buy.

Q: 10. I was recently given one of these, can you use LED lamps or do you have to use CFL's?

A: You have to use CFL's
