The Tiffen 95mm Coarse Thread Fog 1/2 Filtersimulates the effects of natural fog or mist by creating a soft glow around highlights and lowering the overall contrast of the scene. There can also be a softening effect due to how the light interacts with the subject matter. The 1/2 density provides a small amount of fog effect and requires no exposure compensation.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

A: The Tiffen 77mm Variable ND Filter has slightly oversized outer dimensions when compared to a conventional simple 77mm filter like a UV filter or diffusion filter. We recommend that our next larger jewel case, the Sensei Filter Jewel Case (77 - 95mm) model # SJC-95, would be a more suitable fit.

Q: 4. Does it have the front threads? If it doesn't, it cannot be used with Sensei 77mm Filter Stack Caps. They are very useful.

A: You would turn the ring on this circular polarizer in order to correct for any glare/reflections or to deepen the color in your image.

Q: 6. I’m wondering if the color of this filter matches with the color of Fuji X100V?

A: Yes, it will match very well--there is very little color shift introduced by a UV filter.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with the Canon 25-105 lens? Does it being 58mm mean it can attach to any lens that has 58mm within its range?

A: The Canon 28-105mm lens will take a 58mm threaded filter, such as the 2188B001 Circular Polarizer. The size of 58mm refers to the size of the filter threads at the front end of a lens, so it will work with any lens that has a filter thread size of 58mm.

Q: 8. Is this filter compatible with the Canon Powershot SX60 Digital Camera?

A: This filter is not compatible with the Canon Powershot SX60. You will need the Canon Filter Adapter FA-DC67A which then accepts any 67mm filter.

A: This will reduce 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 stops of light

I bought this filter to photograph my daughters and friends at their martial arts school. The lights are fluorescent. The floors have bright blue & red padded mats that reflect off the white uniforms. Sometimes a white uniform will even appear pink in a photo. This polarizing filter significantly reduces, if not totally eliminates, this unhelpful reflections from the brightly-colored floor mats while only having to step down 1 stop. I highly recommend this filter to eliminate unwanted reflected light from bright colored backgrounds and objects in or out of frame. 5

For years I have used Tiffen filters on all my lenses. Over the past 4 years they have saved me thousands of dollars by protecting my lenses. While putting my camera on a tripod I did not get it as secure as I thought and my camera fell off the tripod. I know it was stupid, but I tend to focus more on what I am trying to photograph rather than my equipment. On two separate occasions the camera fell to the ground, once on a concrete floor. Both times the camera landed on the front of the lenses breading the glass in the filter. Fortunately for me the filters absorbed the brunt of the impact. I removed the broken filters and continued my photo shoot. Once I had to change lenses until I could get some tools to remove the filter because it was bent making it too tight to remove by hand. In addition, I like to keep my lenses clean. I find it protects the expensive coatings on my Nikon lenses. I would rather clean a filter than be constantly rubbing chemicals on the front element of my lenses. 5
