The Nikon DK-17C -2.0 Correction Eyepieceis a replacement eyepiece for select Nikon SLR and DSLR cameras. This eyepiece helps to compensate for nearsighted vision. Made from soft and durable rubber, the surface of this DK-17C Correction Eyepiece provides a comfortable surface for the area around your eye while framing a subject through the camera's viewfinder. It also serves to block unwanted and potentially distracting light from entering the viewfinder. The DK-17C -2.0 Correction Eyepiece mounts easily and securely to the viewfinder and is compatible with select Nikon cameras.

To determine which Nikon diopter is best suited for you, it is recommended to consult your eye care professional. Nikon SLR and DSLR cameras without built-in adjustable eyepiece correction have a base diopter value of -1. -1 is considered the optimum starting point for the majority of SLR or DSLR users with normal vision. No combination of that -1 base value and a diopter's value is required to arrive at the final desired value. In other words, if you require a diopter of +2, simply add a +2 diopter to your camera.

A: No, Leica Correction Lens M are not stackable. Leica makes them under multiple diopter range to match the appropriated magnification.

A: First, remove the original eyepiece to install the Leica Correction Lens M (-2.0 Diopter) on compatible cameras. This correction lens has a screw-on attachment and is compatible with select Leica M cameras, including the M (Typ 240), M9, M8, M7, and older cameras.

[0.015 lb] I finally decided to try correcting my vision with a -2 diopter eyepiece for my D800. Big difference. I am now a lot more confident in manually focusing because I can see much more clearly through the viewfinder. I wish I had done this years ago! 5

[0.015 lb] After recently inheriting my father's F3HP, I found it difficult to perform critical focus with my fifty-something eyes. Being spoiled with my later models with built-in diopter adjustments, I spent too much time searching for used diopter lenses in vain. To my surprise, the original Nikon diopters were still available and in stock at B&H. Within days, I was fully appreciating the razor-sharp images on my newly acquired F3HP in it's full glory. Now the focus visibly snaps into focus, even with these old eyes. Thank you Nikon. Thank you B&H. 5

[0.015 lb] I've had a plus-30 year career in photojournalism and still love to manual focus my lenses whenever possible. The process of composition without autofocus target acquisition---just eye to brain to hand to focusing ring and shutter release---connects me more to my images. The use of Nikon Correction Eyepieces fine tune the built-in diopters on my D4 and D4S camera bodies to get an optimal bite and sharpness through the viewfinder. Not sure why I gain a bit more clarity with these but I do. They work great for my eyes. 5

[0.015 lb] I could not acquire sharp focus in the viewfinder of my Nikon D500 either with autofocus or manual focus. Nikon recommended I replace the original eyepiece lens (DK-17) with this correction eyepiece which gives a different range of diopter adjustment. 100% successful solution to the problem! Now the image I see in the viewfinder is sharp and clear. There are several different models of this eyepiece lens based on whether you are near-sighted or farsighted and how much correction you may need; so I recommend you contact Nikon tech support so they can assist you with making the proper choice. B&H had a great price and cheap but fast shipping. 5
