Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. how many speakers can I connect per channel?

A: The QSC GX3 features 2 physical speaker outputs designed for optimal operation at 8 ohms. The unit is able to operate safely with a 4 ohm load as well which will give you a higher wattage output per channel. You are able to connect multiple speakers to each channel in parallel, but should be careful not to exceed the wattage and impedance ratings listed by the manufacturer.

Q: 2. How do I know what size amp I need for a warehouse PA system?

A: The wattage required from an amp for a PA system depends on a few factors including the type of speakers used, the amount of speakers, and the wattage requirements per speaker. If you are uncertain of your needs, please give our sales team a call with the above information and we can help you select the proper amplifier.

Q: 3. Can this amp be used in a home theater setup?

A: It can, if your home is sufficiently large. The amp is designed for speakers up to 300W (most home theater speakers don't go above 100W, which would fill a decent sized living room with sound.) So the GX3 would work, but you also may find it overkill (and if your speakers are too small or rated at 16 Ohm, you may blow your speakers if you turn the amp volume up too high.)

Q: 4. Im frm Philippines.. What is the right wattage/amperes of transformer be use to power this Gx3

A: You would need a step down transformer such as this BH #SEST1500UD.

Q: 5. Is there a fan replacement for this?

A: I would contact Bogen directly at 800-999-2809 or through their website at www.bogen.com for a fan replacement for this power amplifier.

Q: 6. CAN i connect 4 speakers 8Ohm 150w rms to each channel in parallel mode ?if not which is the best way to connect 4 speakers/channel, not to overload the machine or burn the speakers?

A: Connecting four 8 ohm speakers to a channel will present a 2 ohm load which the GXD 8 is not designed to handle. A minimum of 4 ohms per channel for proper operation is recommended by the manufacturer.

Q: 7. I wish to use this amp with (4) speakers inside a small (1,500 sqft) fun center lobby with 10ft. ceilings. Would someone be able to suggest a good speaker match? Thanx.

A: Thank you for your question. Please give us a call at 800.606.6969 so that we can better assist you in getting the right speakers for your needs.

Q: 8. Can you hear the fans?

A: Hi, yes but the fans are designed to be very quiet on the QSC GXD 8. Thank you for shopping at B&H!

Q: 9. hello it can be connected to a voltage 220?

A: The QSC GX3 operates at 120V AC. You will need to use a step-down transformer to use it with 220V AC such as the Sevenstar ST-500 Step Up/Step Down Transformer - 500W (B&H # SEST500UD) or Watson Voltage Converter - 500 Watt Max (B&H # WAVCGSD500).

Q: 10. Is it possible to output low impedance on channel one and high impedance on channel two simultaneously?

A: When in stereo mode, the QSC ISA300Ti Commercial Power Amplifier with 70V Transformer operates both outputs independently, so you could use one channel for 8Ohm and the other channel for 70V.

[35 dB] I've installed 4 of these units on 2 softball field press boxes and for a boot camp and archery range on a university campus for announcements and background music. I paired them with some jbl outdoor speakers 8 and 12 version and it is a wonderful setup. both owners are in love with them. they were producing absolutely NO hiss whatsoever. very very good amp.

[8 Ohms ] My previous amp ran the fans from front to rear, but I prefer the way this amp blows from rear (inside the rack) to front.
The RMX 850a has standard balanced input connectors, and multiple output connectors including advanced SpeakON. It's easy to configure for bridging, limiting, filtering, or other standard options.

[2] I am a physicist. (energy physics not matter physics). I am also a sound engineer, coincidentally, the control of sound energy. This amp is VERY GOOD for bench testing audio control devices and speakers. The addition of an unbalanced input makes it very handy for typical bench tests. Because I am retired I also use commercial speakers for my home stereo system. Use of commercial speakers is much cheaper than consumer speaker products that, by and large, do Not provide full range audio despite deceitful specs claiming otherwise. The commercial speaker is also built to last and far more reliable than consumer designs. (will last decades under home stereo use... my last amp lasted 31 years... speakers are still going strong) I use this amp as my home stereo amp driving 1,200 watt rated commercial speakers that actually reproduce 20Hz. (actual amp power use rarely exceeds 75 watts peak and 25 watts average) In that unique use... the amp fan noise is detectable so I place it behind a glass paneled cabinet. Aside from fan noise, the amp performs very well and for the price is one of the best bargains there is. Keep in mind... the typical consumer stereo amp is Designed To Fail and the primary reason is.... no active fan cooling. (a flawed design that minimizes ambient noise) The amp provides plenty of dynamic headroom (nearly 6dB under typical home stereo use) and presents no excessive noise floor problems. I use a receiver with balanced XLR outputs, a balanced 31 band EQ to drive the amp and control volume. My speaker connections are Speakon. Bottom line... A very good simple amp for multiple purposes at a very good price. If you are an engineer who loves music and movies you will quickly recognize the wisdom of putting up with a bit of fan noise to achieve excellent performance and very long term reliability.
