Digitally Integrated is a designation Tamron puts on lenses featuring optical systems designed to meet the performance characteristics of digital SLR cameras. By employing "Internal Surface Coatings" and multiple-layer coating technology on ordinary elements, ghosting and flare due to reflections that occur when light enters through the front element and reflections caused by the imagers themselves are reduced to the absolute minimum.

Flipping a macro switch in the focal length range of 180mm to 300mm allows entry into the macro range, for photography as close as 37.4" (95 cm) from the subject. In the macro range, one can take advantage of the telephoto effect and a maximum magnification ratio up to 1:2. In addition, since the focal length in the macro range spans from 180mm to 300mm, zooming can also be used to adjust composition.

LD glass elements reduce various aberrations while minimizing the fall-off of light at the corners.

[1.47 lb] This is a good lens for the price, won't win any side by side with high dollar telephoto lens but for a low cost lens it performs great. For photographers and anyone wanting a lens to add the ability to zoom in and capture images but doesn't want to drop hundreds on a lens this lens is what you want.

[1.47 lb] I'm an amateur for sure, using this lens to capture autocrossing locally for fun. I am always amazed at the quality of the pics I can grab, especially considering the price. Grabbing cars speeding past is not easy, the the AF snags them every time.

Recently, the zoom stopped working. I thought I took pretty good care of my lenses, so I sent it in for a repair. It has a 6 year warranty, so I figured it was worth a shot. The list of things they did to repair and clean my lens was a little embarrassing, but it was covered under warranty. Consider me very impressed, and I will treat my lenses with more care going forward.

[Full-Frame] I am an amateur photographer who purchased this lens to take wildlife pictures. Overall I am pleased with the lens. The autofocus can be a little sluggish but overall it works great. Thus far I've taken photos of hawks and used them for macro photography as well. Being that I am a novice I will not fault the lens for some blurry images since it may be my camera settings are not optimized.

[34° to 8°] All the pictures await but appears to be a very workmanlike lens. Easy on and off.
