Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the silver surface shiny or matte finish?

A: The top side is a matte finish while the reverse is shiny.

Q: 3. what does the caution mean? Is there anyplace to find details on that?

A: As others said, Not made for 1X/2X DVD-R drives.

Q: 4. Can these be used as a substitute for the Verbatim 95052 discs?

A: This Verbatim DVD+R DataLifePlus Inkjet/Hub Printable Recordable Disc is different from the Verbatim DVD+R 4.7GB, 8x, DataLifePlus Shiny Silver Disc (95052) This one is inkjet printable, where-as the 95052 is for silk-screen printing.

Q: 5. Where are made these disks ?

A: The Verbatim DVD-R 4.76GB 16x (100-Pack) BH #VEDMR16100 is made in Taiwan.

Q: 6. Will this support 4K videos up to 50GB?

A: Yes, the Verbatim 50GB 8x DataLifePlus White Thermal Hub Printable (25 Discs) can support 4K videos up to 50GB.

Q: 7. I'll elaborate more.I use a Casio Thermal Disc Printer (CW-75) to label my movie discs. When I make a mistake labelling the disc, I use Goo Gone and Rubbing Alcohol to remove the mistake, and this works fine with regular blank DVDs. But when I do the same on white thermal printable discs, it results in a smeared disc surface which cannot be corrected, and makes re-labeling the disc impossible. Therefore the disc becomes useless (i.e. at least for labelling). Is there any other way around this?

A: No, unfortunately there is not. Once the disc is printed on it is meant to be permanent, much like a one-use CD-R. Removal of the actual dye results in damaging the top layer of the disc as well, most of the time.

Q: 8. Is Verbatim blu-ray disks 97338 HTL or LTH ?

A: Verbatim Tech Support verified that 37338 discs are HTL

Q: 9. Are these made in Japan?

A: According to the information we have, our current inventory's Country of Origin is Taiwan. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice.

Q: 10. Has the manufacturer specified an expected archival life or material on the coating?

A: The manufacturer uses it's proprietary HardCoat coating for its BD-Rs. They advertise a long life, but do not make any quantitative claims to longevity the way M-DISC does. Additionally, there is not necessarily any definitive difference in longevity between HardCoat and similar coatings and M-DISC save for price.
