Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What side of the transparency should be printed on? Both sides feel identically smooth but there is a small notch in the corner which I assume is for orientation

A: when holding the paper in portrait mode the notch should be on the upper right hand corner & the side facing you is the side for printing. If you print on the other side the ink might just run so be careful.

Q: 2. Has anyone used this to create negatives from digital files on an Epson Stylus 1400 Photo Printer?

A: I've not used the OHP film on your particular printer, but I have used it on other Epson printers to create digital negs over the years. The film will probably work fine with all printers, but the subtle quality of the negative will depend on how sophisticated your printer's color density settings allow you to be. This film is worth the extra cost, though, compared to less expensive brands. Heavier film will feed better.

Q: 3. Is this film is crital clear?

A: No! it has a milky look. For clear film consider getting the Inkpress Clear Film follow link: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/695513-REG/Inkpress_CF851120_Clear_Film_5_mil.html

Q: 4. I'm looking for the most transparent film in the pictorico range - as clear as possible - what would folks recommend?

A: Although I can not directly answer this question because I don't know if there is a clarity range on this product, I can offer some general usage info. I have used both 8 1/2x11 and 17x22 sizes to print high resolution digital negatives from my Epson 3880 for alternative processes (contact prints, cyanotypes, VanDyke Brown prints). These photos were submitted for MFA photography courses and I can assure you that this is a high-quality product with excellent tonal ranges and finest details visible in highlights, shadows and midtones.

Q: 5. Are these transparency sheets safe to use in laser printers?

A: No they are not designed for laser printers.

Q: 6. Do you print with glossy or matte ink for negatives?

A: I use matte black on my Epson R3000. I use pictorico for digital negatives that are used to make contact prints.

Q: 7. Is this film clear and transparent? Will it hold Epson matte black ink for photopolymer intaglio plate exposure to UV light?

A: I bought this product a couple of years ago to make digital negatives and it worked great running through a printer and using it in a UV light box. Yes it is clear and transparent. Hope this helps!

Q: 8. What is a good crystal clear large format transparency film?

A: Pictorico makes very good transparency film. I highly recommend it.

Q: 9. The Epson P600 says it doesn't print on transparencies. Will this product work on a P600? Epson has a list of printers that are compatible with transparencies and none of the printers I now use to print on transparencies are on that list and they print fine.

A: The Epson P600 does print on transparency film designated for pigment inks. The Pictorico Pro Ultra Premium OHP Transparency Film is specifically designed to be printed on Epson's pigment inks.

Q: 10. Is this product acceptably compatible with Canon Lucia inks? (Pro-1000)

A: The Pictorico Pro Ultra Premium OHP Transparency Film - Letter (8.5 x 11", 20 Sheets), B&H # PIUOHPTFL20, can work with the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000.

[20x Sheet Film] Pictorico is one of the best products invented. I use it to make digital negatives for cyanotype, platinum, and VanDyke Brown printing and it is amazing. I love this larger size the best to have more flexibility in negative size.

[26%] I’m using these for digital negatives for cyanotype. Unlike almost all other transparencies they just work in my Epson printer and are super consistent. The milky white base doesn’t get in the way.

[1.85 lb] These are high quality and easy to use just like the smaller sized ones. In a year of using the Pictorio films, I would not use anything else. These 11x17 ones are easy to use and well worth the price!

[Single] I'm using this with a P900 Epson to make digital negatives. It takes ink very well and produces very high DMax values. No complaints at all.
