Q: 1. What is the shortest length of the tripod when it is completely retracted/folded?
A: The folded length of the Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod Deluxe Kit 9, B&H # MAMT055XP3D9, is listed as 24" (61 cm) under the Specifications tab on our website.
Q: 2. Will a 250W Tungsten modeling light be too hot?
A: Technically that soft box is for strobe/flash only. You can use a strobe with a modeling light but I would not leave it on for long periods of time with one that is 250 watts. Or if your strobe allows you to dim the modeling lamp you should do that. For safety you need to keep an eye out that it does not get too hot.
Q: 3. I just purchased a Fuji XT-2 from B&H. Should I go with the 100mm or the Seven5 system. I shoot mostly landscapes. Will I get vignetting using a wide angle lens if I stack a little stopper and a polarizer?
A: I am using the Seven5 system with the Fuji x100t, but that has a fixed 23mm lens. The xt2 can accommodate many different lenses, but the Seven5 should be fine. The 100mm system would be more suitable for wide angle and and ultra wides on a full frame dslr. Check with Lee directly for more details, their customer service is excellent.
Q: 4. How do you configure this tripod for 3.5 setup?
A: Hi Peter,I'll try to explain the way that I have done this. For this configuration, I use the X PROball head because it allows for the easiest adjustments. First, hold the tripod as if you have just removed it from the box with the head pointed in the upward position. At the top of each leg, located just below the silver head mounting plate, you will see a rectangular silver lever approximately 2 1/4 inches long. This lever is the leg lock release. At the bottom of this lever, you will see an inverted triangle (with the point facing down). While holding the tripod by the other two legs, place your thumb on the triangle , of the leg you are working on, and apply downward pressure. You should feel the lock release. While maintaining this pressure, rotate the leg upward until it is in a horizontal position. This is the maximum the tripod will allow the leg to move. Release the pressure from your thumb and the leg will lock in place horizontally. Repeat this process for the other two legs. Now all three legs should be horizontal and the central shaft should still be vertical. Next, locate the wing-nut by the red emblem just below the silver head mounting plate. Unlock this wing-nut by turning it open. Invert the tripod so that the head mounting plate is seated in your left hand. At the bottom of the central shaft , you will see a large red triangular shaped button. Press this button and maintain pressure as you slowly push the central shaft upward. Continue pushing until you hear the lock engage . Invert the tripod right-side up. Then rotate the head mounting plate to the left of the wing-nut and the central shaft will now lay on top of the opposing leg. Next, turn the wing-nut to the locked position. Attach the X PROball Head and rotate the camera mounting plate to the upward position. Attach camera and you are ready to take low level pictures. Reverse each step of this process to return the tripod to its original position. Hope this helps.
Q: 5. Can i use it with Godox sl-200 (200W) led light?
A: The Photoflex Medium LiteDome is designed for use with strobe or speed-light. I would recommend the Photoflex Medium SilverDome for use with continuous lights.a href= https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/140665-REG/Photoflex_FV_SD2M_SilverDome_NXT_Medium_Softbox.html target= _blank https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/140665-REG/Photoflex_FV_SD2M_SilverDome_NXT_Medium_Softbox.html/a
Q: 6. Is the Lee Seven Five System compatible with the Lee Wide Angle Compendium?
A: No, these are different systems. The Lee Wide Angle Compendium hood has a filter holder (two slots) for 4 X 4 filters (100mm square). The Seven-6 system holds filters which are 75 X 90 mm. Lee Filters makes a hood specifically for the Seven5 system, see below.
Q: 7. Can the Seven5 system be used on a Canon 60D with a EFS 10-18mm lens? I know that there are suitable adapter rings, but I am wondering if there will be a vignetting effect, or if the crop factor of the camera will eliminate it.
A: The Seven5 kit can be used with the 10-18mm lens via the 67mm lens adapter. However, even with the 1.6x crop factor there is likely going to be some vignetting at the wider end of the lens. This effect would be diminished when using the LEE foundation kit with the 67mm wide angle specific lens adapter instead of the Seven5 kit.
Q: 8. Do the Lee Seven5 filters have a different degree of hard and graduated transition from the full size Lee filters? Or, is it just the physical size of the Seven5's that is different? The reason I'm asking is that I have the full Lee kit in 100mm filters that I use with my Fuji system. It works fine. Is there any advantage/difference other than physical size?
A: I use the 100mm and Seven5 Lee grads, on full-frame DSLR and compact Four-Thirds cameras respectively. Comparing the 100mm and Seven5 grads side by side, I see that the Seven5 filters are not just the 100mm grads cut to a different size. Rather, the Seven5 filters are fully scaled down, both the size and the graduation pattern, to be appropriate to the smaller lenses that they'll typically be used on. So, comparing the fade zone in the graduation in the two filters in say 0.6 Soft specification, you see that the Seven5 fade zone is shorter than in the 100mm filters. In this way, presumably you should get a similar graduation effect in your images with both the larger lenses you'll typically be using with the 100mm filters, and the smaller lenses you'll typically be using with the Seven5 filters. This matches with my experience with the two systems.
Q: 9. My camera has a fixed 49mm lens. Will this work? do I need an adapter?
A: Yes, you need a 49mm adapter. Click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/2YWAePT
Q: 10. Will the Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II work on this Tripod?
A: Yes, the Wimberly WH-200 is compatible with this tripod.
