[90 lb] This is a perfect self-contained kit for 3 or 4 light interview setups, or it makes a great addition to a larger kit, giving you a good variety of light sizes for highligting and background lighting. I use this kit 2-3 times a week in addition to a larger Arri kit. It is also great because I can send out 2 different crews and know that everyone has a variety of fail-safe lighting. My first Arri kit is going strong at 12+ years of use. I've only had to replace bulbs and a cord here and there. Arri kits aren't cheap, but they are a small additional price to pay for reliability and longevity. Without the wheels the kit is a little heavy but it's small size is worth it for portability.

[90 lb] These lights are fantastic, but let me start out with the only downside I've encountered so far: the weight. I bought this kit to use predominantly as a travel kit. I haven't traveled with it yet, but the case seems very durable, the padding inside is very good (although I intend to keep using two pieces of foam that appear to have been included only for shipping) and creates a snug fit, and the lights themselves seem very tough, although I haven't seen how they hold up in the long term (I imagine they'll hold up well though). All of this toughness adds up to roughly 55 to 60lbs, meaning when I travel with them that I'll have to either ship them ahead of time or pay heavy bag overage fees to take the kit through the airport. Southwest, for example, charges $ one way for a bag weighing more than 50lbs, and Delta charges $ for your first bag plus a $ fee one way for bags weighing more than 50lbs. Since these are the airlines I use, that means I'll have to pay $ or $ for each roundtrip I take them on unless I leave some things at home or pack some items separately. Other than that, the lights are great, although I had to reach in and finagle the wires to make the holes line up with the light bulb connection points. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of so you don't stand there scratching your head for a few too many minutes wondering if the bulb is actually in how it's supposed to be. The lights really are great though, as are the extras such as the soft box. Very powerful and versatile kit.

[41 x 21 x 15"] Since writing my initial thoughts about the condition of the lights, I've had contact with folks at Arri. They were extremely helpful. Customer satisfaction and pride in the product were their number one priority. As such, they furnished me with a case that more appropriately fits the amount of equipment provided with this particular kit. They also replaced the damaged barn door. We greatly appreciate this. All companies should function this way. However, my earlier comment about the case stands. It is far too small for the kit. Not only was the barn door damaged, but several dividers were also bent. Last but not least, the black interior hinge -- for lack of a better description -- was punctured and ripped. All of this was the result of the case being far too small. Other than that, this is a great and versatile kit. It's cost-effective and perfect for stand-ups and talking head shoots.
