The ALFIA Horizontal Sliding Rod is part of FOBA's COMBITUBE system of studio accessories. It can be mounted on a tripod or camera stand to give you a generous 16.5" (42 cm) of horizontal camera mobility. A longer 36.2" (92 cm) rod is available separately. The sliding rod can be rotated 360° on the mounting clamp and it can also be used with the optional ASTIU panoramic adapter or the optional ALFEA crank-operated rod for even more flexibility.

A: The foremost picture in the set shows the item in its most compact form for travel. For mounting to the tripod, the foam grip/counterweight is unscrewed from the mounting base. The head should be removed from your tripod first before this is attached securely to your tripod legs on its mounting platform. Q: 4. can this arm be mounted on a Manfrotto tripod?

A: Yes it can! Screws right on and the quality and stability is excellent. Using it in a recipe development shoot as I write! Depending on the size and weight of your DLSR and lens, you may need a sandbag for a counterweight. A large bag of rice does nicely too!

Q: 5. Can we use this with Gitzo 5 series tripod?

A: Yes it attaches to a 3/8 screw.

Q: 6. What size rolls? What's the Maximum Length of the roll?

A: Unfortunately, this background stand does not include the backgrounds. However, it will work with seamless paper rolls as wide as 12 feet.

Q: 7. Can this arm be mounted on a MeFoto Q2 tripod? I am looking for a way to make art videos from overhead without having to buy another tripod! Base mount is 3/8" 1 16 thread, quick release plate type PU-60, camera mount 1/4" - 20 Male. Thanks in advance!

A: Yes it will work quite well. the native threads in the base are 3/8. The mounting platform for your head is 3/8 or 1/4 20.

Q: 8. Will this work with Foba DSS-Gamma Camera Stand?

A: The Arbea will not work with a Gamma stand. There is an extension that will work, but only with an Ansaba crossarm.

Q: 9. Can this arm support a Toyo 4x5 View camera?

A: Even though the load capacity says 11lbs, I wouldn't risk it. you are much better off with a Salon Stand (pricey) or C stand with a boom arm.

Q: 10. What is the diameter of the extension tube?

A: The diameter of the HA-77 extension tube is 24 /28mm (9.45/11.02 inches )

[6.5 lb] Everything I have from SHAPE is great. Well manufactured and solid. The product design is well thought out, for instance the fact that the rod block has one fastener to tighten rather than two which requires both hands and is far more cumbersome. The machining and fit are fantastic. Fully recommend SHAPE products to anyone looking for rigs and/or components for rigs. 5
