The Vello 55mm Snap-on Tulip Lens Hood (Version II) is designed to fit lenses with a 55mm filter thread. The hood is designed for use with internal focus type zoom lenses. When used with "full frame" sensor cameras, the starting focal length should be above 20mm. With "APS-C" sensor cameras, the starting focal length should be above 15mm. With wider lenses, especially on full frame cameras, some slight vignetting might occur.

The "petal" shape of this lens hood maximizes the amount of hood coverage with the minimum amount of weight and hood area. In addition, the design of this hood allows it to be reversed and stored on the lens, when not in use. It is also designed to accept lens caps. 

Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens, by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

A: While we are not aware of the exact combination's compatibility, B&H # FU1813535WRL has the proper filter thread and focal length to work with this hood. It should work.

A: The hood will screw in to the filter threads but you will not be able to use the lens cap. And the dedicated hood for the AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED (3.5x) is the HB-28. It is no longer made by Nikon and at this time we do not have one used.With that hood you can put it on reverse and use the cap on the lens.

Q: 5. will this fit n the canon 8-14 fisheye lens ?

A: The Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM Lens does not have front filter threads so unfortunately, the Sensei 77mm Screw-on Tulip Lens Hood will not fit it.

A: Hi, Jacob! The lens hood should attach directly to the camera as long as the camera has a 55mm thread. You shouldn't have to purchase a completely new lens. The Sony you are talking about is a camcorder. I own a Canon dSLR. However, the lens hood should fit nonetheless.
