Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work with a Zoom F2 field recorder?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser MKE 40 Cardioid Lavalier Microphone with Hardwired 1/8" TRS Connector for EW Series Bodypack Transmitter is compatible for use with the Zoom F2 Field Recorder.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with the XS series of Sennheiser body packs?

A: Unfortunately the Sennheiser MKE 40 is not compatible with the XS series. Only the SK 100, SK 300, and SK 500 Evolution Wireless Series bodypack transmitters.

Q: 3. Can I use these mics with Sony UWP-D 21 wireless packs if I get a small adpater ( to go from the 3,5 mm locking connection to the different one on the Sony's body packs) ?

A: No, you will not be able to use the Sennheiser MKE 40 with a Sony UWP transmitter. The internal wiring for Sennheiser and Sony mics is different and they are not compatible or interchangeable. Alternatively, you are also not able to use mics wired for Sony transmitters with Sennheiser transmitters. This is not something that can be fixed with an adapter. You would need to rewire the mic which will void the manufacturer's warranty on a new item. Please feel free to contact us for assistance in selecting a compatible mic.

Q: 4. Would this work with a Shure SLX1 body pack?

A: Yes, the Shure UL4 UniPlex Cardioid Subminiature Lavalier Microphone is compatible with SLX1 bodypack transmitters.

Q: 5. Can the sennheiser AVX series drive this mic properly? If not, why not?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser MKE 40 Cardioid Lavalier Microphone is compatible for use with the Sennheiser SK AVX Digital Bodypack Transmitter.

Q: 6. While I doubt it's audiophile level, what kind of audio quality can I expect? On par with a cordless phone, or is it more like a good wireless lavalier?

A: It is more like something that would be suitable for a non-critical use.

Q: 7. Would this work using the sub1/2 output from my zoom f8 into the transmitter? I want to create a portable headphone feed from my mixer

A: Yes, it would. The sub1/2 output is a consumer line level output, which is identical to a headphone jack. The SilentPA transmitter has a 1/8 TRS input on the side of it, and you can plug the output into it. It is however, VERY hot and you'll have to have the volume knob on the transmitter all the way down. I set the sub 1/2 output to mic level to make it easier.

Q: 8. what frequency does this transmit at?thanks

A: The UBP800 is designed to work with the Bogen UDMS800 wireless mic system which operates within 470 MHz-490 MHz

Q: 9. Does it come with the receiver as well?

A: This listing is for the transmitter only. It does not include the receiver.

Q: 10. Is this large enough to fit a transmitter and receiver at the same time?

A: It is difficult to say; if it is just transmitter and receiver, then yes. But if it includes lavalier type microphone with cable, then possible it may not fit.

[-50dBc normal] Rode sets the standard - this replacement is top-notch. DON'T JUST BUY THIS - you need the RX transmitter too. This is meant as a replacement if the TX breaks (I broke mine from slamming into a chair)

[0.325 lb] Im an owner of a few older UWP-D models but this has a different feel when you look at it.
Its a little bit smaller than the older, the antenna is a little bit more protected and also, the unit is 24g lighter than the older one.
It has a few upgrades like auto-gain, + 15 dB sensibility boost the screen turn off by it self using less battery than the older.
Im really happy with it and now Im going to upgrade my older models for this one.

[-50dBc normal] I purchased 2 UTX-M40 TRANSMITTERS, 1 URX-P03D receiver and an extra ECM-V1BMP for my Sony RX10M3/RX100M7 cameras. The setup works great for 4K videos using the 3.5mm output. The microphones focus on the subjects with very little background. I am very happy with this setup as the RX100M7 is very portable when using a belt pouch for the receiver.

[0.325 lb] Bought these to pair to my Sony URX-PO3D dual receiver. They synced up immediately. I added the Countryman EMW Lavs w/ Sony connectors and the sound is fantastic. The body pack is smaller than any other I've had before, but it is very solid. I put it on and walked outside the building and across the parking lot - solid signal. This will be my go-to audio setup for a long time!
