The technical enhancements of the Swarovski Z5 3.5-18x44 BT Riflescope Matte Blackfrom Swarovski Z5 3.5-18x44 BT Riflescope Matte Blacktarget the hunter's concerns as well as the hunting traditions. This Z5 is just under 1 pound. It is a high precision, 1 inch scope with 5x zoom ability. A 1 inch with a 5x zoom is something new. The wide 300 foot field of view and high 18 power magnification deliver a very versatile hunting riflescope, from expansive reconnaissance to up-close detail and back again. A third side turret providing parallax correction of 55 yards keeps the reticle constant while only the target is magnified.

The Z5 3.5-18x44 BT concentrates on the essentials - it's light, relatively compact, and reliable. The turrets offer ¼ MOA click-stop corrections, and the quadratic adjustment range provides a generous 36/58 MOA for windage and elevation correction respectively. This Z3 riflescope is configured with a 4W reticle in the second focal plane and a ballistic turret. There is dioptric adjustment and the scope has a transmission rate of greater than 90%.

While the exterior of the optic has an impeccable, anodized and scratch-resistant finish, the tube's interior is furnished with a finely machined microstructure surface to reduce residual reflections. The Z5's trim profile offers a clean unobtrusive look. The field of view is crisp, wide, and rich with fine detail. If rough-terrain, mountain hunting or open field long shots are where your game is, then the Z5 3.5-18x44 BT should be at the top of your short list.

A mounting base and rings are used to attach a riflescope to a firearm. A comfortable sight picture is contingent upon the height of the rings. A comfortable cheek-weld is the result of properly positioning the scope over the receiver. Mounting the scope close to the receiver is preferable, yet scopes with larger objectives need higher rings so the front bell can clear the barrel. It should be noted that in many mounting applications, a professional gunsmith's skills will be needed for proper installation.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Fits on nikon z50?

A: The rule of thumb with cages is, if the camera name is not in the title, it most likely will not fit. The Nikon Z50 will not work with the SmallRig Camera Cage for Nikon Z5/Z6/Z7/Z6 II/Z7 II.

Q: 2. Would this work with a Nikon D7500? If not, which Small Rig product would work best?

A: Unfortunately, The Smallrig cage will not work with the Nikon D7500. We suggest looking at universal cages for your camera model. Universal cages - https://bhpho.to/3PZkZji

Q: 3. Will mounting an external microphone to the top of the smallrig cage (as opposed to mounting a microphone directly in the camera's hotshoe) decrease the amount of audible G-lens autofocusing noise picked up by the microphone when filming with older G-lenses?

A: While we are not aware of any specific testing on this it can only help. You still may hear it, but what you are hearing is a vibration coming through the camera body, a cage could help minimize that.

Q: 4. Can this be installed on a tripod/ball-head with Arca style plate?

A: Yes. Unit will need to be attached via arca style plate.

Q: 5. Does this cage have any QD sockets?

A: No, the SmallRig Camera Cage for Nikon Z5/Z6/Z7/Z6 II/Z7 II (B&H# SM2926) does not come with any built-in quick disconnect (QD) sockets.

Q: 6. Does the bottom have Arca Swiss Dovetail built in?

A: Yes, the SmallRig Camera Cage for Nikon Z5/Z6/Z7/Z6 II/Z7 II offers an Arca-type plate on the underside.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with the FTZ 1 lens mount?

A: The SmallRig Camera Cage for Nikon Z5/Z6/Z7/Z6 II/Z7 II does not list the Nikon FTZ Mount Adapter as compatible.

Q: 8. Does this fit the DJI RS3 mini?

A: The SmallRig Camera Cage for Nikon Z5/Z6/Z7/Z6 II/Z7 II will fit onto the DJI RS3 mini. It will be important to ensure the payload weight is kept down, because of the RS3 Mini's 4.4lb payload.

Q: 9. Hello! Do we know whether a Z6iii could still fit in this?

A: As the Nikon Z6 III Mirrorless Camera with dimensions 5.5 x 4 x 2.9" / 138.5 x 101.5 x 74mm is slightly larger than the Nikon Z6 II Mirrorless Camera with dimensions 5.3 x 4 x 2.7" / 134 x 100.5 x 69.5mm, the SmallRig Camera Cage for Nikon Z5/Z6/Z7/Z6 II/Z7 II would not fit on the Z6 III. A compatible cage would be the SmallRig Camera Cage for Nikon Z6 III, BH #SM4519.

Q: 10. I just got these and I love them. They'd work better with my particular setup if they had longer speaker wire connecting them. Any recommendations?

A: The JBL 1 Series 104-BT Compact Powered Desktop Reference Monitors with Bluetooth can be connected via standard, unterminated speaker wire, such as the options shown here: https://bhpho.to/3rSkY7H

[36 MOA] Purchased this scope for it's optic strength and long range reticle. I have had several Leupold's over the years, all fine scopes but this is on another level. If you want a clearer view at longer ranges it is worth the additional price.

[36 MOA] Mounted this up on a 16" AR in .308. After only having chevron reticles on other ACOG's I wasn't sure if I would like the crosshair. That notion disappeared quickly. Daytime shooting, with the illumination off, I was shooting sub moa groups at 100, and 300 yard shots at a 10" square steel plate were ridiculously easy. Next week I'm taking this set up out to 5/600 and I'm sure it will preform just as well.

3.5x is not a lot of magnification, but the clarity of the Trijicon glass, and the layout of the crosshair reticle make getting behind this optic very satisfying. This has replaced a Vortex PST 2.5-10x 32, and saved some weight in the process. With the illumination only turned up to level 4 I had no issues quickly picking up the center in bright daylight. If you are looking for a solid optic with great glass, that offers both precision at distance and speed at 15-75 yards, and offers a set it and forget it design, look no further. The 3.5x ACOG is where it's at!

B&H had the absolute best pricing on this optic I could find, shipping was quick, and the optic was well packaged. Thanks B&H!

[2 lb] Wow! That's my summary. Awesome, magnificent. Crystal clear, incredible low light visibility. I just bought my first Z3 and couldn't be happier! To say I am impressed doesn't do this scope justice. I had the highest expectations given the price. I was not disappointed. While I own many Leupold VX-3's (and Zeiss, Nikon, Bushnell), and they are excellent, the Z3 stands above the rest. If you can afford it, buy it. Put the best optics you can find on your rifle. It will be the best decision you ever make when it comes to hunting.

[16 x 3.2 x 3"] This is a unbelievable clear optic. I purchased this swarovski after researching scopes for several months. I have held and looked thru many scopes before deciding this was the best for my needs. It is perfect at dusk. Its almost brighter through the scope than actually outside. Spend the extra money and invest in the quality if you can. I did have to sell my first born to buy this, but so worth it.

[36 MOA] If you just want to have some of the best optics available for your rifle this is your choice. This model is currently the best allrounder available there. Beats any competitor in picture clarity/sharpness and many x56 competitiors on light transmission. Not the cheapest one but I'm not going to upgrade for next 30 years anyway.

[M46 x 0.75] This is my second Swarovski Scope. I have traveled to Africa with the first scope twice and it stayed sighted in both times. My wife hunts with me and this scope is for her rifle for our next trip. Everything with Swarovski is top of the line and above all others if you ask me. Zero flaws!

[M46 x 0.75] As always, B&H service was excellent to deliver this hard to find scope. Swarovski glass is bright and clear. The size and weight of the scope is perfect for stalking or mountain hunting. Or any hunting.

[1"] The best all-around product on the market right now for me if you're after a very large FOV. I've had Leupold products for years and absolutely love them, but the Swarovski beats them hands down when FOV becomes the critical factor in the equation. If you don't need the large FOV, I would say its not worth the extra $$$ though.
