One of the most appealing aspects of small mirrorless cameras like the Nikon 1 is the availability of a wide range of interchangeable lenses, including non-Nikon lenses. The T2 Lens to Nikon 1 Camera Adapter | Novoflexfrom T2 Lens to Nikon 1 Camera Adapter | Novoflexmakes it possible to mount a T2 lens to your Nikon 1 camera with a precision mechanical adapter. This adapter does not transfer functions from the camera to the lens, such as automatic focus, exposure metering, or aperture priority mode. It will, however, provide manual exposure and stop-down aperture priority mode. The lens will focus to infinity using this adapter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this adapter compatible with D auto focus lenses?

A: Yes, the Novoflex Nikon F Lens to Nikon Z-Mount Camera Adapter, B&H # NONIKZNIK, may be used with Nikon D-AF lenses (all Nikon D-AF lenses use the standard Nikon F-mount lens mount). As both the Novoflex Nikon F Lens to Nikon Z-Mount Camera Adapter and Nikon D-AF lenses have aperture rings to control the lens' aperture, you would have to choose which ring to use for your aperture control. If you are using the lens for photography, I would leave the Novoflex ring fully open and control the aperture using the ring on your Nikon lens as it has preset click-stops for your aperture setting. If you are using the lens for video recording needs, I would leave the Nikon aperture ring fully open and use the Novoflex ring to control your aperture as the Novoflex ring would be click-less (de-clicked) and would allow smooth, silent aperture control.

Q: 2. Can this adapter work for Nikon D lenses?

A: Yes, you may use the Novoflex Nikon F Lens to Hasselblad X-Mount Camera Adapter, B&H # NOHAXNIK, with Nikon D-Type F-mount lenses. As Nikon's D-Type lenses have built-in aperture rings, if you wish to use the aperture ring on your lens, you would leave the built-in aperture ring on the Novoflex lens adapter set to wide open. Conversely, if you wish to use the lens adapter's built-in aperture ring, you would leave the aperture ring on the Nikon D-Type lens set to the lens' widest aperture setting.

Q: 3. it has a built-in aperture control ring? does it control lens aperture? in any way

A: Yes, the Novoflex Nikon F Lens to Hasselblad X-Mount Camera Adapter will control Nikon AF-S G lenses' aperture.

Q: 4. Would auto focus work with Nikon AF-D lenses using this adapter?

A: Autofocus is not compatible with this adapter. Focus would only work manually.

Q: 5. Does this adaptor work with Nikon F lenses that already have their own aperture rings?

A: Yes this will work on Nikon F Mount lenses, the newer G-series as well as the D-series with the manual aperture rings.

Q: 6. Can you use this adaptor with Tamron lenses that are not compatible with the Nikon FTZ adaptor?

A: Yes you can use it for any Nikon F mount lens except for the "E" type lenses (the electromagnetic diaphragm). This adapter has a simple, fully manual, and durable all-metal design for intuitive and straightforward use. It features a built-in aperture control ring to enable the use of G-type Nikon F-mount lenses, which lack a manual aperture ring. While this adapter will maintain infinity focus and the use of aperture priority metering, it does not relay electronic communication between the camera and lens.

Q: 7. when i'm trying to mount nikon lens on X1Dii 50 C with this, camera is giving lens not detected error. Please help with setting?

A: There is no electronic communication between the camera and the lens when using this adapter, so you need to use the camera menu to switch to the electronic shutter, and use the built-in aperture ring on the adapter in order to control exposure.

Q: 8. Is there any lock key for wide open aperture ring on the Novoflex lens adapter? is there any problem when both the aperture rings of the adapter and the Nikon D type lens are shifted to their own settings?

A: No, the Novoflex Nikon F Lens to Hasselblad X-Mount Camera Adapter, B&H # NOHAXNIK, does not have a lock feature. If you are using the Novoflex Nikon F Lens to Hasselblad X-Mount Camera Adapter on a lens that has its own aperture ring, you would have to choose to use one or the other; whichever ring you choose to use to set the aperture, you would set the other ring to the wide-open setting.

Q: 9. Will this adapter accept one of nova flex’s arca-Swiss compatible collars? I would like to use this to mount heavier lenses on a tripod.

A: Unfortunately not. None of the Novoflex collars would fit on the this adapter.

Q: 10. If I use Nikon G lens with this adapter how do I know what aperture I am setting?

A: Unfortunately, as each lens has a different maximum aperture and aperture range, and as there are no markings on the Novoflex Nikon F Lens to Hasselblad X-Mount Camera Adapter, B&H # NOHAXNIK, there is no way to exactly calculate the aperture. As such, it is recommended to take a test photo at a particular aperture setting and review the result to see if you obtain the depth-of-field you desire in your image. There are markings showing the wide open aperture setting and the closed aperture setting so you will know the direction in which you are turning the aperture ring.

[Nikon 1] Allows me to use my Nikon F mount lenses and G-type lenses on my Hasselblad X1D II. I originally purchased a Fotodiox adapter which did not even mount to my camera. This Novoflex fits perfectly, is made extremely well (German quality), and functions perfectly. I am using Zeiss lenses, specifically Otus 85 and Classic 35. Both lenses cover the 44x33 full sensor, creating breathtaking imagery with a Zeiss pop. Best of both worlds with medium format and Zeiss lenses! I can't say enough about this adapter! Just get it! It's worth the price tag.

[0.26 lb] I have had my X1D II now for 10 days. I purchased the Novoflex adapter to hopefully use at least some of my large collection of premium Nikkor 'gold ring' lenses and Zeiss Milvus (50, 85, 135) lenses. I know the Novoflex adapter is not intended to work with Nikkor 'e' lenses - since those apertures are electronically controlled, However, they do work but only with the aperture fully open since the Novoflex adapter cannot control electronic apertures. My Zeiss Milvus 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4, and 135mm f/2 lenses all have aperture rings, so those apertures can be precisely set on the lens, rather with the Novoflex. I am including three photographs I took with my Nikkor 105mm f/1.4e mounted on the Hasselblad - of course with the aperture fully open. The coverage of the lens projection and subject isolation on the larger medium format sensor was excellent. I am thrilled I can use my large collection of lenses I purchased for my Nikon D850s with the Hasselblad's electronic shutter.

[T-Mount *] I am not sure if I needed to spend the big bucks on this rather expensive hunk of cylindrical metal, but after reading the reviews on all of the lens adapters, I decided that: (A) I have a $3000 camera, (B) I am adapting a Leica-class lens to said camera, (C) so I should not risk spoiling A+B by going cheap on an adapter.
