Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Trying to find a solid tripod for my Pentax 645z without breaking the bank. Is this tripod up for the task of supporting a medium format camera?

A: I use a Nikon D800 with a battery grip and a 70-200 and it's very stable.

Q: 2. I intend to use this with a Nikon D750 with battery pack and Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens. Will it support the weight of this setup?

A: I used it on my Nikon D800e/Nikon 70mm-200mm/f2.8 combo and battery pack with two legs fully extended on flat surface. It seems to do just fine. However, I wouldn't recommend using under any windy conditions, unless weight are add it. Hope this help.

Q: 3. Can I use this tripod with a Nikon MC-DC2 Remote Release Cord or will the quick release plate get in the way?

A: You can use it with no issue

Q: 4. One of the legs came off and I cannot seem to Reattach it. Any advice?

A: You can call and ask for Chris Kellogg a href= http://www.mefoto.com/support#ServicingYourMeFOTO target= _blank http://www.mefoto.com/support#ServicingYourMeFOTO/a

Q: 5. Any suggestions to add extra safety, so my camera with my heavy 400mm, pointing straight up? It makes me very nervous with only a plate holding the weight, I fear it will all slip off and crash to the ground

A: The Arca-Swiss type mounting plate system used on this tripod has a built-in slip prevention feature built into it. If the knob that tightens the plate to the ball head becomes loose enough to allow the plate to slip, it will only slip about a half inch or so before being stopped by this feature. If the knob loosens further, then the plate can be released altogether. However, you might want to consider getting a larger tripod with a wider splay of the tripod legs for your heavy setup.

Q: 6. Will this work on a C100?

A: Should work so long as C100 has the standard 1/4 female tripod screw hole.

Q: 7. MeFOTO's website indicates the Globe Trotter comes with spiked feet however B&H says it does not. Which is correct?

A: Yes mine came with the spikes inside the bag. The has a storage compartment in it. That is where you will fine them as well as instruction booklet. Hope this helps.

Q: 8. the tripop MeFoto A2350Q2 come with a camera plate PU60. I need an extra one, which should I buy? could you indicate product number please. I will use it with a couple of Nikon D810

A: Any Arca-Swiss compatible mount plate will work with this ball head, they are made by a multitude of companies in various sizes as needed for your particular camera and lens mount application.

Q: 9. can you remove the head?

A: You can remove the mount and leave it on your camera, and you can also remove the whole head. It's sturdy and it travels very well.

Q: 10. How easy it is to buy from India? How to deal with customs?

A: You can easily order this tripod with a credit card via our website. As to customs, we unfortunately we cannot do that for you. We suggest contacting the shipping carrier, DNL for further information regarding customs payment in your area.

[5] I was looking for a more compact tripod to use when hiking or in the field that would be similar to my Manfrotto 055 w/Arca-Swiss head. This fit the bill perfectly. The head unit, though smaller, is very controllable and locks like a vault. My Arca-Swiss plates work with it perfectly. Leg adjustments are easy and, again, very solid. The entire unit folds down and is easily carried on a back pack. It has stood up to the knocks and dings that happen when hiking like a champ. For me, the monopod option is superfluous. I just don't shoot that way. So far I love this little unit. I've had my 055 set for almost 20 years. I believe this one will last as long. It is certainly built robustly enough to do so even with the abuse I lay on equipment. So far this has been my best purchase of 2013.

[5] This unit is Great. It beats the other OVER Priced and well known competitor, all around. As for me, an experienced 35yr. Photo Professional, thsi unit shines. Quality, Price, weight, compactness, design, durability and usability. There is one other lesser known competitor, Sirui. It looks very similar but other than that, this MeFoto unit works GREAT. Where have this Brand been hiding? Eugene S.

[5.95 lb] I was interested in this tripod primarily because it seems to be of very solid construction, it had a high weight capacity, and because it converted into a mono pod. In addition, it was also fairly lightweight, and folded into a fairly compact package for portability purposes. This is my first high-quality tripod, but thus far I have not been disappointed in the least. The ball seems to function perfectly, and the adjustment knobs are appropriately placed and seem intuitive. I also like that the quick release plate came included in the package, as did the spike ends for the tripod feet. Additionally, it has a nice carry case, that though I do not intend to use, when out and about (it will be secured to my backpack), it serves as a nice way to store it at home if you're OCD about taking care of things. I have not used the mono pod alone, but I have assembled and disassembled it to make sure I could do it easily. It seems relatively easy, and relatively quick to perform. No complaints from me about this product

[Ball Head] Compact, very easy to setup, light, it weights like a half a gallon of water, it feels strong and very long lasting, if you go to a windy place no problem, I bought the titanium one and gives a nice touch of color. The ball head it's amazing, I will defenitly buy another one. It really feels like you have a tripod in your hand. And it's made by the same people of benro tripods. Awesome tripod, I mean just awesome. And it's a monopod too, I almost forget, two products in one.

[Yes] Solid yet compact! I needed a travel tripod that could hold (video) cameras easily upwards of 10lbs.+ and, of course, DSLR's. But, it needed to be compact and easy to use at a reasonable price. I searched and searched and settled on the MeFoto Globetrotter. YES! Mission Accomplished. The tripod is sturdy. Legs lock down fast and tight...they also expands and collapse very smoothly. The head is smooth on moves even though it's not a fluid head. Yet, it's tight on the drag settings. I use it for DSLR work for everything from event photography to stock photos and videos to time-lapse work. And, when it comes to video work I use it for a second unit (mostly lock down) camera. For me, the most useful function for this tripod is that when I need to travel really light and tight but need good height on a tripod that can be used with a variety of camera types, I just take this one tripod. So, I get a tripod that collapses down to right at 16. I can also, quickly convert it to a monopod. And, it works great for both my DSLR and my video cameras. I wish it were a little lighter, it weighs 4.6 lbs. But given the maximum and minimum heights and the load bearing weight versus the price, it was really the only choice. No regrets!
