In addition, the bag features numerous storage and carry options that make it appealing to anyone who wants one bag that can do many things. Primarily, it holds your laptop but there is plenty of room for collateral material, iPad, documents, pens and various other accessories such as cables, adapters and cell phone.

Unique to this bag are the four ways it can be carried. First, there are hidden snap coupled backpack straps that can be tucked into two corners when not needed. Second, as a traditional shoulder bag, the adjustable and removable shoulder strap contains a wide pad for added comfort. Third, the bag can be carried like a standard briefcase with a top carry handle that can also be hidden within its own zippered storage pocket. Finally, a handy rear trolley sleeve allows you to thread it over your luggage cart for ease of transport through airports, up ramps or through narrow hallways.

Outside, the bag has two zippered horizontal and vertical pockets for quick access items such as ID, tickets and passport. This eliminates the need to open the entire bag to retrieve needed items. Inside, the computer compartment has an additional touch fastened flap pocket. The other side of the bag has organizer pockets-slash, flap and touch fastened style.

A: The waist strap can extend to 57 .

A: this bag will carry a Pentax K 3 and K 3 II, plus Pentax * 70mm- 200mm, Pentax 150mm - 450mm and numerous other lenses and more in its adjustable interior compartments

Q: 3. Where is the laptop compartment and does the zipper open at the top or side?

A: If you are wearing the backpack, the laptop compartment is the closest compartment to your back. As noted in another response, the shoulder straps attach to the top of the laptop compartment, and the zipper is to the right side if you are wearing the backpack. The laptop compartment opens to the side and the zipper starts at the top and pulls downward to open the compartment. Most compartments have two zipper pulls for access, but the laptop compartment does not. More than asked: I have fully loaded the backpack with 2 bodies with 70-200 & 24-105 lenses attached, and all the other glass I could fit in plus gadgets, plus a Dell Precision (not light) laptop. The backpack had to have weighed 40-50 lbs very heavy load on your back, but the backpack did not wince I may have a couple times . . .. Because of the weight when fully loaded, I sometimes choose to carry the laptop separately. When I bought, some reviews complained about the weight when fully loaded, but they did not add stars for the amount of equipment this thing will carry. It is designed to be the maximum carry-on size for a plane and barely fit into the overhead bin, not under a seat. You might even need to pull the laptop to get it in the overhead if you put as much in the backpack as I did. If travelling by car, it is really nice to use this as the primary storage container to leave in the trunk & just pull what is needed at the time into a smaller bag. The Ruggard product is extremely well made. If tanks were made of cloth, this would be a prime example. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

A: Yes the Thunderhead 75 is capable of holding your current gear.

Q: 5. I need to replace my current bag - I have out grown it and I need to be able to carry more gear to my shoots and I want something tough for travel. I am very concerned about durability. I wish there were a rating for it! How durable, on a scale of 1 - 10 (maybe this will help me decide) would you consider this backpack? Why? I know this is a lot to ask, and I thank you very much in advance!

A: Yes that lens will fit attached to your D7100 body with this backpack. You could even attach a battery grip to the body if you wanted to.

A: I think it would look big, but if you have to carry 2 smaller bags that would be a hassle, too.

A: The Ruggard Rolling Laptop Case (B&H # RUCQF216B) will not fit under an airplane seat.

Q: 9. Would this accommodate a D500 attached to a 200-500, PLUS a D750 attached to either a 24-70, or 16-35 at same time?

A: No, you'll need to detach at least one of those two lenses.

Q: 10. Can this be used as a carryon on flights? From looking at the pictures it looks bulky.

A: Yes, this bag can be carried-on on flights. The FAA regulations dictate that the bag cannot exceed 45 linear inches (measurement of height, width and depth added together). This bag measures at 38.85 linear inches. In general it is always advisable to check with the airline and airports you may be traveling through about the measurements as sometimes local rules are contrary to our own here in the USA.

[15.6" laptop] Much better built than expected, I can fit a laptop, a couple of notepads, a dozen gadgets and it never feels bulky. And that is without even unzipping the space saving zipper. Solid buy. 5

[2.2 lb (1.0 kg)] The minute I saw this bag I knew it was perfect for my new Macbook Pro. It's compact, not overly bulky, has the right amount of padding to protect my laptop, and a good amount of spaces for various wires, etc. I have another laptop case that is almost double the size and I always disliked carrying it around. This Ruggard one is so much more manageable. I've only started using it, so I'm not sure what doesn't work yet, but the only thing that stood out to me was maybe it's a bit less roomy for larger wires, like extension cords if you need to hardwire your laptop at a meeting, or something. But, I don't think that's a big deal at all. And so, ultimately, this is a great laptop bag. Well worth the purchase. 5
