It offers adjustment based on 12 colors. Hue and saturation can be adjusted in each of the 12 axis, making it easy to adjust specific colors in isolation. You can enjoy advanced color correction from specialized hardware design with the convenience of real-time processing.

A mode for conventional RGB correction is also included. After general adjustment in this mode, users can switch to more precise color correction in the 12-axis mode. Balance, Differential, and Sepia are the 3 color correction modes that are available with this unit. In Balance mode, it performs RGB-based color correction; in Differential mode, it performs color correction while maintaining white balance; and in Sepia mode, it performs monotone color conversion.

For precise color correction, video signals can be displayed using the built-in vectorscope. Detailed color adjustment is possible while viewing waveforms. Using multiple outputs, an alternative coordinate system can be displayed without displaying the main line.

Images can be viewed before and after color correction together for comparison. Images can be displayed vertically or horizontally for easy color correction while comparing the original image. Before and after images can also be displayed on individual outputs without using the split display.

RGB and composite clip functions keep color information within the optimal range. The RGB clip uses white clip and black clip functions to correct color information in video that is too bright or dark. The composite clip automatically adjusts color information in HD video to suit SD signal ranges while preserving the original appearance. By determining differences between color information in HD video and that available with SD video, color inconsistency in simulcasts can be instantly corrected.

Equipped with 2 HD/SD-SDI inputs and 1 analog composite input, the unit can process signals from a single input at a time and switch between each signal as required. The unit is equipped with 2 HD or SD-SDI outputs and 1 analog composite output. Using dual outputs, one can be used for precise adjustment with before/after or vector display, while the other is used as the production output. The analog composite output can be used with SD-SDI signal.

Color-correction settings can be stored on the unit for instant recall of 100 events. Additionally, the unit's built-in browser can be used to export or save data to an external computer. This makes it easy to use the color corrector when correction settings are edited in the field.

Video processing controls for video level, luminance level, chroma level, black level, and hue are available in this unit. Frame Sync, Line Sync, and Input Sync modes are present in the FS (Frame synchronizer) functions. With embedded audio pass-through, it supports up to 16 channels of embedded audio. Audio is de-embedded before processing and then re-embedded afterward.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this also be used to measure light levels (F stops)? Ambient, spot, or incident?

A: This meter can be used to measure incident light, measured as lux. There are no aperture or shutter speed or ISO numbers on this meter. These would need to be derived from the lux measurement and the ISO speed rating, to determine f/stops and shutter speeds. As a reference point for your calculations, Exposure Value (EV) 0 is equivalent to 1 second at f/1.0. At ISO 32 film speed, EV0 is the correct exposure for 10 lux incident light level. For ISO 500, at 110,000 lux, the correct exposure would be EV17. Remember that EV represents a collection of equivalent settings, so EV17 could be 1/1000 sec at f/11 or 1/500 sec at f/16 or 1/250 at f/22 or 1/125 at f/32 or 1/60 at f/44, and so on. For the same ISO 500 speed, 55,000 lux would require one unit lower EV than at 110,000 lux, thus 55,000 lux would require EV16 for ISO 500. With 110,000 lux and ISO 125, the correct exposure would be EV15. One of the possible shutter & aperture combinations for EV15 would be 1/250 at f/11. These examples should enable you to create exposure tables for yourself, relative to the lux readings you get from this meter. It does beautifully at measuring the spectrum of light sources and determining color rendering index and color temperature.

Q: 2. does unit measure all reflected ambient light? Is there a recommended way to measure only the light source (black box or tent)?

A: The Sekonic C-7000 Spectrometer Color Meter Bundle Kit can read most type of light and can measure it in , CIE1931/CIE1964 CIE1976/CIELUV CRI (Color Rendering Index) Correlated Color Temperature (TCP) Deviation (Δ uv) Dominant Wavelength (λd) Footcandle Horizontal Footcandle (HFc) Lux Lux Sec (HLx) Peak Wavelength (λp) Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD) Purity (Pe)

Q: 3. what else should i get to make a copllete virtualset epuipment ?

A: You will need at least 1 Ultimatte 12 and an Ultimatte Smart Remote 4 to control them and key your set. You will also need cameras and a virtual set software.

Q: 4. Does the 20201 fit/work with any other skywatcher telescope (like the 72ED)?

A: According to the manufacture it is only designed for the PRO 100 ED APO

Q: 5. Can this be used for color analysis of roasted coffee beans ?

A: No, the following unit is a spectro but will only capture measurements of all forms of continuous light. Please review the following item if you are trying to capture the color code of a coffee bean. Datacolor ColorReader Color Matching Tool https://bhpho.to/3BLhrdS

Q: 6. Does this unit have a data port that would allow it to interface to an external radio for remote sensing?

A: The Sekonic C-7000 SpectroMaster Color Meter Bundle Kit does not have a port for remote sensing via radio.

Q: 7. If the delay is over 300 msec can the output of the left channel be looped back to the input of the right channel( or Vice versa) to give an increase of approximately twice as much delay for a monaural application?

A: If you do that it with the AV Toolbox AP-411 Lip Sync Corrector. It will very likely cause what are called multiple repeats. Which would be the signal feeding back on itself. The time between the repeats will be determined by the setting you use.

Q: 8. Filming with an ARRI sr2 - will this convert a film video tap to digital?

A: I would be a millionaire if I had a dollar for every foot of film I ran through Arriflex SR cameras. So while I have not tested this set up, the specs sound right. The Arri's video tap, possibly a Transvideo product, outputs a Composite signal through a BNC connection. Connect the tap to the converter and it should work just fine in making a digital signal.

Q: 9. Can the C-7000 automatically take multiple data points (30 points every 1 minute)?

A: The Sekonic C-7000 Spectrometer Color Meter Bundle Kit BH #SEC7000K does not have the ability to do 30 readings per minute.

Q: 10. Is the dial a full spectrum dial or increments? In other words, can it be set to 175 ms for example?

A: thank you for your email. The dial is full spectrum, the numbered settings are there as a guide.

[13.5 lb] You can use this color meter for something as simple and quick as acquiring the color temperature of lights, or you can dive into it and really use it to its' full potential. Well made, feels solid in the hand. As others have pointed out, the touch screen is a bit stiff and needs a few tries to get it responding but this is deliberate so Icons and such are not touched by accident. Register on line and your warranty will be extended to three years. Well worth the $$$.

[13.5 lb] I was unsure about buying a meter that was this expensive. Then, it showed up and I started using it. Holy cow. The amount of data this meter supplies is mind blowing. Yes, it is expensive, but buying a lesser model will only make you wish you bought the right one in the first place.

[13.5 lb] I got the meter a couple days ago. I started to write a review and planned to give it 3 stars for two reasons. First was the finicky touchscreen that would take several presses varying the pressure to get it to register. Second was the lame software that comes with it. For the first issue today I discovered that the touchscreen works fine if you use a fingernail or any rounded plastic thing like a pen cap. Apparently fingertips spread over too big an area and confuse it or just don't make the connection. The second issue is the software. I was expecting the software to be similar functionality as the meter screen with the options to compare plots, etc. so you could do post-processing on the computer. The software only allows you to download several graphics file formats of plots (bmp, jpeg, png) and a raw data .csv files. The .csv file allows you to do anything you want but it is a bunch of manual work to do so versus if the software was more functional. Another irritation with the software is that as far as I can tell there is no way to just download all your file from the meter memory at once. When you use the meter you need to Memory Title. You then take readings that are autmatically named. When you use the software you can select all the files under one Memory Title but you cannot select all files and download them as a batch. After solving the touchscreen issue I decided that the meter itself deserves 5 star. It is a really nice meter.
