[1.725 lb] OK. So this is quite odd. I had purchased a non-Leica Soft Release Button, made, I believe of aluminum, from the Leica Miami Store some time ago and it was nicely finished but never quite found its seating properly, requiring frequent tightenings. I found it at the bottom of my camera bag from time to time, having worked itself out and it finally fell permanently out during a particularly grueling Death Metal band shoot, never to be seen (by me) again. Searching for a replacement, I was tempted by an offer to buy three aluminum buttons for about 1/3 the price of my original. Not as beautiful, but since they are escape artists, I did not care. Instead, in a moment of weakness, I sprang for this absurdly priced Leica M button, thinking myself a complete push over. To my surprise, this button seated in with its first tightening and although I check, has not loosened even a quarter turn since then. It is, is a pair of words, WORTH IT. If you are not using a button now with the M240 or its kin, I suggest doing so, and with a proper Leica button. 5
