A: I don't know how heavy your Nikon is but I can tell you I carried this camera all day for several days while traveling in Europe and it never felt heavy or annoying. It was great. I did not take the longer lens all the time. I also have the Sony RX100iv which was awesome also. Hope this helps.

A: I hesitate to use the term better without qualification. I am a longtime Canon shooter, going back to 1980 or so, and using a1Dmk2 and a friend's 6D and 7D. The a6000 is outstanding in several ways for my work. I shoot a lot of available light, often at intimate music situations. The high ISO performance and relative quiet of the mirrorless Sonys are indispensable. I have an EF adapter that allows me to use the extraordinary Canon optics. I have an older FD 85mm f1.8 that is amazing with the 24Mpx sensor on the a6000. For most work I now use the mirrorless before the SLR.Good luck!
