The SPL MixDream XP 16x2 Analog Summing Mixer is a 1U rackmountable analog summing mixer that can expand the functionality of any digital console or DAW. The device uses sophisticated discrete Class A/60 V stages for analog summing before analog to digital conversion. It can sum up to 16 audio tracks to a stereo signal, and additional units can be linked together or connected to MixDream model 2384 for projects that require even higher track counts.

The 60-volt (±30V) rails of the unit's Class A technology with circuitry based on the most modern analog components. This ensures an extremely high slew rate, a very low noise level of -97 dBu and a dynamic range of 125 dB, which puts the unit on par with among the best analog consoles.

In addition to being used for mixing, the unit can also be used for discrete mastering from single tracks or subgroups as well as up-sampling audio to SACD/DVD-A formats.

The back panel of the unit features two 8-channel DB25 inputs, two XLR-3F expansion inputs, two XLR-3M main outputs, and two XLR-3M monitor outputs. The front panel of the device features stereo/mono push buttons for channels 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and 15/16. A variable output button switches the input level from unity and activates the output gain knob and an expansion input button engages a second MixDream XP connected to the rear panel expansion port.

A: Rekordbox DJ is officially compatible with specific Pioneer units only, but it may run on this mixer. It is not mapped out for the software and there may be some quirks.

A: Yes, phantom power does get sent to all XLR mic inputs on the Mackie Onyx16 16-Channel Premium Analog Mixer.

A: The Zed-6 is available in the colour scheme shown in the photos on the product page for the Zed-6.

Q: 4. How many tracks the Korg SoundLink MW-2408 Hybrid Analog/Digital Mixer have?

A: According to Page 13 in the manual for the Korg SoundLink MW-2408: "You can distribute Korg SoundLink's 16 or 24 inputs into 8 outputs fed to an audio/digital interface."

Q: 5. Is it conceivable (technologically) that Mackie could do a firmware upgrade on the Onyx8 to allow 8-track recording to the SD card? That seems to be the strongest limitation here.

A: Anything is possible. But there have been no announcements regarding this to date.

Q: 6. Can you specify Cat6, Cat5, Cat5e?

A: The Presonus EarMix 16M can utilize Cat5e or Cat6 network cables. The primary differences between CAT5e and CAT6 cable are the wire gauge of the conductors and the number of twists per inch in each wire pair. Both types of these cables have the ability to handle the speed required for the stream- and channel-counts involved.

Q: 7. Can I use this mixer for hybrid zoom meeting calls. I have in person particpants with mics and then external participants on the zoom. I need to be able to receive and send audio?

A: Yes, the Allen & Heath ZED-14 Compact 14-Channel Analog Mixer with USB Connection can be used for hybrid Zoom meetings with participants in the same location and over Zoom. The mixer has a built-in USB audio interface that is capable of sending a stereo signal into a computer as well as sending audio from the computer back to the mixer.

Q: 8. Does this do multitrack recording?

A: It is designed for stereo mixing and recording only.

Q: 9. I would like to mount this in a 10 U slant top mixer case (B&H # MAMAM14UW), is it 10U in size?

Q: 10. is USB in on this mixer just input? or will this send tracks to a computer?

A: No it is not like an interface. It's like a USB mixer you can send 2 tracks via USB out of the mixer to USB in on your computer. There is no multi track recording with this desk.

[65 ohm] Very easy to use simple mixer that provides fantastic sound. The addition of USB, allows computer connectivity for recording or streaming. You can easily tweak the highs, mids and lows. Has lots of power and gives you additional volume that can be controlled from the main output or the channel. Great buy, and I’m very happy. 5

[11.05 lb] I bought a several of these for my church worship team. We are transitioning from floor wedges to IEMs now, and this has made the transition possible. There is a little bit of learning curve for first time users, but pretty straightforward if you are tech-savvy. The sound is loud and clear. Just need to take some time to assign the channels on your main mixer. 5
