The Radial Engineering 8ox-rm-r Mic Splitter 8-Channelfrom Radial Engineering 8ox-rm-r Mic Splitter 8-Channelis a rack-mountable eight-channel, three-way mic splitter. It splits up to eight microphone signals into three outputs, allowing you to feed three mic preamps from a single source. The 8ox-rm-r also has a pad on each channel for line-level sources. This makes the unit very flexible for all types of signal splitting, but particularly for live recording because it will deliver transformer-isolated audio to the recording engineer and a direct feed to the front of house and monitor consoles.

Multiple types of connectors are included on the 8ox-rm-r for maximum flexibility. Front-panel XLR and rear-panel 25-pin D-sub and phoenix screw-down connectors each provide input access. A direct output enables 48V phantom power return, while an auxiliary output with a ground-lift switch helps minimize hum and buzz. The unit is completely passive and requires no power source for operation.

A: This unit is meant to split audio only, and is wired differently than communication systems. We do carry a splitter for RTS, which is the Telex TW-5W 1 In, 5 Out Splitter Box, B&H # TETW5W.

[8.5 lb] I use three of these for microphones on the top and bottom heads of my three tom toms. The sound is tight and totally in phase, unlike when I only close mic the top heads of each drum. 5

[8.5 lb] I needed something that wasn't padding my signal from the mic pre into the effect unit but padded it from the output of the mic pre into the mixing console for rehearsals and live applications. This box worked fantastic because i lost no tone from the mic pre which was my biggest concern when looking into different ways to pad the signal. This worked brilliantly. Highly recommend 5

[8.5 lb] This box was the perfect solution to passively sum two channels of audio into mono. Although they were not needed in my situation, the unit also provides two potentiometers that will allow you to mix two channels into one. The unit is constructed in a sturdy box. The controls feel solid and the unit delivers what is needed. 5

[8.5 lb] Signals from the Mac computer to the audio mixer sometimes had hum and/or were overdriving. This little 2:1 combiner took care of all the issues. We later bought a second one to use with our portable camera rig to clean up audio from various audio systems we would plug into. It does the job. 5

[8.5 lb] Splitting XLR from computer DAC (Schiit Gungnir) to headphone integrated amp receiver (Schiit Ragnarok) and to TV entertainment center processor (Emotiva XMC-1). Does the job with 0 noise or issues. Clean signal to both. Works!!! 5
