    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this charger charge both older 12.8 volt batteries as well as the newer 14.4 volt Sony BPGL95B?

A: The Sony Fast-Charging Battery Charger for Select Lithium-Ion Batteries is designed to charge 14.4V Sony Vmount batteries.

Q: 2. Does this unit plug into a wall power outlet or just into a USB?

    A: USB.

    Q: 3. Will this work with Li-ion/IMR: 1. EBL 14500 2. Garberiel 18650 3.Ni MH AA Panasonic Eneloop Pro?

    A: Yes, the Nitecore New i4 Intellicharger Battery Charger will work with the battery types listed below: - Ni-MH: AAA and AA (such as the Panasonic Eneloop Pro) - Li-Ion and IMR: 26650, 26500, 25500, 22650, 22500, 21700, 20700, 18700, 18650, 18500, 18490, 18350, 17670, 17650, 17500, 17350, 16650, 16340 (RCR123), 14650, 14500, 14430, 14350, 13650, 13500, 13450, 12650, 12500, 12340, 10500, 10440, 10350, and 10340

    Q: 4. Will it charge 18650 batteries?

A: Yes, it does. The NiteCore i2 has a comprehensive list of batteries it supports. Please see the bottom of our overview for the full list.

Q: 5. What's the min and max watts of power this charger can handle?

A: The Nitecore USB Travel Charger for Leica (Leica's BP-SCL4 Battery) (B&H# NIULSL) is listed as having a maximum output of 8.4V at 1000mA. As such, there wouldn't be much point in attaching anything more than a 10W charger to it. Typically, that would be a common 2Ah (or 2.1Ah) 5VDC USB charger. Sometimes 2Ah is listed as 2000mAh (or 2.1Ah is listed as 2100mAh), but those are the same. Anything more would not result in faster charging, at least according to the specification given by the manufacturer. Please note that while some chargers (especially those with a Power Delivery feature) can charge at a higher voltage, only 5VDC should be used with this charger.

Q: 6. It only charges Sony Batteris or it can charge any Vmount Battery Lithium based, like Dracast 90wh and and others?

A: The answer is unknown for it would require Sony to test dozens of competitor batteries to see if they charged correctly. This is something any manufacturer is loathe to do, which is certifying competitor batteries. So our opinion is it probably can charge other batteries but B&H, Sony or Dracast will not cover by warranty any damage that occurs. In other words, you are on your own.

Q: 7. Does this hold 4 123 batteries? If not do you stock one that does?

A: No, it only charges two 18650 cells.

Q: 8. What is the average charge time for 18650 battery?

    A: 5 hours

Q: 9. Will this charge rcr123a 3 volt batteries without any issues? I see it is compatible with the 3.7 volt ones.

A: Yes it will. I have Nitcores and AW RCR123A used in my SteriPen.

Q: 10. Does charging the battery at a higher current (4.5A vs 2.8A) shorten the battery's life?

A: Yes it does over a period of time
