[0.2 lb] I was always skeptical of magnetic mounts and passed several deals on Woot or other sites. I chanced upon a demo setup in the store and was very impressed with the hold. Bought one and installed it in my car. The base with the magnet attaches via sticky tape to the car. The magnet part is a ball/socket contraption in the base and can be held in a suitable angle by tightening a plastic nut. A metal plate goes on the phone. The metal plate can be inserted between the phone and case, or directly glued to the phone (plate has a sticky side). My purchase came with two plates a small the size of a quarter and a larger one the size of a credit card. I used the larger one on my iPhone 6 plus. I just put it in between the phone and case. The magnet is strong enough to hold my iPhone 6 plus at highway speeds. I have even run my car on rough spots on the streets to see if it would fall off. So far so good. I am yet to see how well the glue on the base holds up when summer comes along. One of the best uses I put this mount was attending a meeting, the kind of meeting where you have to dial in to listen and occasionally say a few words. I stuck my phone in landscape mode with gotomeeting running on it with audio streaming into my bluetooth headset. 5
