Ideal for long, heavy lenses, the GH2 Aluminum Gimbal Head from Benro can hold up to 50 lb, stands 9.5" high, and weighs 3 lb. An Arca-type compatible clamp allows for quick attachment and release of your camera and lens, and a PL-100 quick-release plate is included.

A vertical scale and a 360° panoramic scale allow for easy adjustments and repeatable pans, while a large pivot tension knob enables smooth tilts. A separate knob locks the panning motion, for more complete adjustment control.

A: This Wimberley F-1 Telephoto Combo Flash Bracket is a great option. You would need to get a plate that is long and will stick out the front of the foot of your lens. It would need to be a plate that is double dovetail like most Wimberley plates are. [Yes] I was looking for a gimbal head but pausing at the cost of some of the heads. When the price came down on this I decided to take a chance. I am a serious hobby photographer and I think this will serve me well for a long time. Action in both directions is very smooth. 5

[3.95 lb] It holds my 100-400 canon with no problem. It will hold even more. All slides work smooth and knobs hold very well. There is a safety catch for the quick release plate. I would buy it again. 5

[Gimbal Head] I bought the GH2 to replace another gimbal that had a load capacity of 26 pounds. The load capacity of the Benro GH2 is 50 pounds. It is well built. The vertical and horizontal adjustments are about a quarter turn from full movement to lockdown. I immediately did some shooting with a large 500mm lens and this product was decidedly better at holding the equipment in place with minimal vibration. Good product at a fair price 5

[Gimbal Head] Solid, sturdy, and smooth. Reasonably priced for what it is. It's heavy, but when you're shooting on heavy, stout tripod legs with a long and heavy lens, you're not expecting to run and gun. A suggestion: look for a YouTube video by Steve Perry called How to Balance a Gimbal Head. It gives good, clear advice on setting up the gimbal head on a tripod with your camera and lens on it for optimal performance. 5
