Q: 2. Is it possible to just use the feets as a small tripod? i.e. does the tripod part have it's own screew?

A: You could, but only with a small point and shoot camera, or go pro, and or light body and lens, and no wind. It is steady but if you put a top heavy weight on top, it will fall over.

Q: 3. Besides the 2kg difference in load capacity, are there any other major or key differences between the BV8 and BV10? Will I be sacrificing more than just load capacity? Is the BV10 just overall better-made?

A: With these two heads, the build quality is good on both so really the difference is the capacity. Personally, I like more capacity for I find it makes for smoother moves.

Q: 4. Is this monopod compatible with the manfrotto 701 fluid head?

A: The monopod will fit the 701 fluid head fine.

Q: 5. What is the accessory mounting the camera to the gimboom? Seems necessary to balance it correctly if you're not using it with a gimbal.

A: The GimBoom has a 1/4 20" and a 3/8 16" mounting screw built into it. This will allow you to mount a ball head or fluid video head to the GimBoom.

Q: 6. Does this work with the Sony a7r iii?

A: Yes, very sturdy. I use right out of the box it pivots at the base so you can tilt and pivot for following your subject.

Q: 7. Will this work and be stable for astronomy binoculars 25-100 (10 lbs)?

A: Benro A48FD Series 4 Aluminum Monopod with 3-Leg Locking Base will be stable for astronomy binoculars.

Q: 8. Do I need to buy a separate top to be able to tilt and pan?

A: Yes you do. Manfrotto makes some inexpensive heads that work well.

Q: 9. is it possible to unscrew the rubber feet ... and mount something different like a small tripod?

A: The foot can be removed to reveal a spike and the spike can unscrew with a 3/8" thread. Any tripod feet that has a 3/8" thread will attach.

Q: 10. Material of construction is listed as 'steel'. What kind? Case-hardened, stainless, carbon, etc?

A: According to the manufacturer, our overview lists the 3 Legged Thing STILETTOZ as made of strong and durable milled stainless steel for longevity and greater stability on hard surfaces like concrete and gravel.

[Aluminum] If you own a GimBoom, this is a great accessory. It works well, is super easy to install and use and, yes, you can operate the GimBoom as a jib arm even with the legs attached. They don't really add much weight and don't get too much in the way. And, if you do want to do a tripod type shot, pull out these legs and bang, you're ready to go. 5

[1/4"-20 Male] Me sorprendí mucho al ver la excelente calidad de este trípode ya que es uno de los más económicos en su categoría, es excelente para trabajo broadcast, muy buena fabricación y los materiales son de muy buena calidad. [Aluminum] These leg socks are easy to use. Most importantly they show how much you care and love your clients by showing your concern by not wanting to damage anything. Also the colors, especially red really makes the legs stand out so is an added precaution for someone not to trip on the legs. 5

Now after some months using the Benro BV10 I got to say that is a sturdy and fluid tripod. It works great, and comparing it with other tripods with the same specs is a great option in terms of value. 5
